I'm 99.99% certain you can't use exercise to avoid constipation. Constipation is often linked to things like poor water consumption and low fibre intake. I have never heard of constipation relieving exercises.

I think working out in general can help with that. Mostly cardio or interval training if you ask me. But fibers and healthy meals are most important to get rid of constipation.

It states that "Exercise helps constipation by decreasing the time it takes food to move through the large intestine, thus limiting the amount of water absorbed from the stool into your body." Also that exercise stimulates your intestinal muscles to contract and help move things along. Simply getting up and moving around can help the digestive tract, yet aerobic exercises such as jogging or running will help speed things up.
But increasing his water and fiber intake should help do the trick as well! But be sure he is drinking enough water to help push the fiber along, as too much fiber with not enough water intake will further increase his constipation problem!

One exercise I've used to help eliminate constipation is sitting in the catcher's squat..This hold opens up the lower back and stretches the hips while helping the internal organs. Another exercise is a great one where you inhale deeply and on the exhale flex the abdominals and make an ssss sound like a tire is being popped. This opens up and strengthens the internal organs. You don't need to do much of this exercise, about a minute is all you need and do reps that only last about 5 seconds. If you start to feel dizzy, stop and catch your breath. This method I learned from a fitness master who got it from a book that was written back in 1914 by a wrestler named Martin "Farmer" Burns. This was an exercise to strengthen the abdomen and work on deep breathing. Drink plenty of water and don't eat heavy foods, take in a little more fiber.
