Yes, I've read his blog too. Love how he was able to reach so many people and make it into a career - he probably never thought that in the beginning. :D

Feeling a little better each day. Less coughing. Feeling stronger.

Breakfast: New recipe!
Pancakes made without flour. Recipe is as follows:
1 banana
1 egg
dash cinnamon
1/4 scoop choc. protein powder
Mash banana up, beat egg and banana, cinnamon, and powder together til consistency of pancake batter. Pour in preheated pan making small pancakes.
THAT'S IT! It's a learning process, mine were a little soggy - but overall not bad!! I put peanut butter in between each cake instead of syrup. OMG - so good.
Next time I might add just a bit of oats, or flax meal to give it a bit more umph. You could add chopped walnuts, or shredded apple, blueberries, etc.
Lunch: baked potato w/beef brisket, butter & cheese & chives from a Baked potato Shoppe (too much cheese  - I forgot to tell them to go easy on it)
Dinner: BBQ Pork w/ pork&beans. Boiled Rutabega w/butter, salt &pepper.

Workout:
3 mile repeats
1st mile: 10:08
2nd mile: 9:38
3rd mile: 9:03 :D
Cooldown: .6 mile easy jog
Stretch

Dinner: don't know yet. probably pb&j

Workout: 14 mile Road Ride (on trail bike - road bike has a flat)

Nov. 3rd - 5k race
Nov. 10th - 5k race

Hi there, Lynne! I just caught up reading your entire diary and you have accomplished so much, it's admirable and inspiring! I also watched that video--incredible what that man (Ben?) was able to do. (Super handsome, too, ha!)

You are definitely a very healthy eater and athletic. One of the guys that stood out for me was when you got a compliment saying you looked nice and strong in your little bike-riding outfit. I don't know exactly what weight or size you were at when you got that compliment, but if you're anything like me, I always think that a "nice" body for a woman means that you must weigh very little and be a very small size (i.e. fashion model build). It is nice to know that people do not assign "nice-body" status to only these types of physiques. And a strong body not only looks nice, but it serves you well and makes you able to accomplish things, giving you good healh for many years and an active lifestyle, where you don't have to sit out anything because you are too weak to do it.

Muscle + woman = healthy.

Admittedly, the pros on steroids, are risking their health and one or two do look like they've had botched plastic surgery on their faces, but in general, muscle on women is good looking and perfectly normal.

It must be normal, otherwise a female body couldn't grow the muscle

If only more females could get over the misnomers about looking manly etc, they could help themselves more, by creating a body that will last a long time and serve them well in old age.

:D I love muscles.

Been on the injured list. Actually I've had this injury for a while, just been trying to ignore it - it's a runner's worst nightmare....plantar fasciitis in left foot. Went to the beach weekend before last and I ran 4.5 miles, next day could barely walk. :( Very painful. I knew it was there, but it hadn't been that bad, until after that run. So...taking some time off running so much.

I've been riding road bike almost every day, preparing for the 40 mile bike race on the 17th. I can't wait! :P :P
I really am a much better cyclist than runner - maybe I will learn to love it just as much as running.

Eating is has been a struggle. I am trying very hard not to "emotionally eat" so I go for hours without eating, then eat too much, then go hours again. I'm trying to get control back.
This time of year is still emotional for me, since it was when Dad got so sick, then passed away - just 2 yrs. ago. Sometimes I'm not even aware of it, but I catch myself thinking of him and getting sad.
son's birthday is coming up, and he wants to have a party at our house with just family. Well, the last time we had a party at our house for his birthday - it was the last time son ever saw dad, and the last time dad was ever in home - he died 3 weeks later. I am stressing over all the emotions it brings to the surface. I remember it took me about 6 months before I took down the all of the birthday decorations - I couldn't bring myself to do it.
Sorry, didn't mean to turn this post into something sad - just being real and trying to deal with it best I can.
I know that I emotional eat. So depression and food are a constant battle for me.

There are far more positives in life than negatives, I know this. And I am thankful for every one of them. Thankful for this site too - the support from you guys has been a lifesaver time and time again - and I mean that sincerely. :D

Riding 14 miles in the morning, then doing a 30 miler this Saturday. 8)

sorry to hear that Lynne and at least you do have biking and you are good at it so that's a very good thing!! You race is a day before indoor tri!! :) Just focus on your biking and you will heal in no time with the foot!

also sorry to hear that this is the anniversary of your father's death. I'm sure that is very difficult for you and yes i can understand feeling the need to emotionally eat at this time of year. Remember he would want you to honor him by enjoying life and being the best person you can be and honoring him with your loving memories of him as a father. He wants you to be happy not sad i'm sure of that. But it is only human to feel emotional about the anniversary as well. Hugs to you!

I must politely decline an unneccessary apology from a Lady :).

As for what you wrote, it's bound to stir emotions, it's only natural. You're a very human person who is capable of a lot of feeling, so it's no surprise that you would feel like this about a difficult part of your life, but the best way to get through it, is to just confront it.

Thr past is behind you and more positives are still to come and you mustn't deny yourself or others around you those, because you let old emotions dictate how you live.

You have the strength to overcome situations like this and you're doing something good for you Son and that's the important things. people who have departed will live on trough you and your actions and deeds and the memories of them, if you valued them enough, or they earned that much respect, that you would do such things for them.

So feeling what you feel is perfectly natural and certainly nothing to apologise for.

I'm sending you a BIG HUG and letting you know it's all okay to be you Lynne. I think you're a fantastic person and I always remain proud of you for your commitment to yourself and for inspiring your Son, to want to be more like you.

Yous sons progress from boy to man is a heartening thing and you have the power to help make him that way and it proves your Father never wasted his life on you and you can be proud of continuing to not let him down.

I found a sense of beauty in your heart felt admissions and I absolutely admire your frank and honest recollections. You should be proud of telling people how you feel, rather than just bottling it up and I know it must have been a bit difficult to talk about past and difficult memories, but you showed some heart and courage to do so and it reiterated just how human you are and how you possess a little bit of human vulnerability, beneath that strength and confidence, but it's no bad thing and it just adds to the depths of your personality and character, so you have nothing to worry about.

Do what is right for you and your Son and don't lie in the shadow of the past, just embrace the good memories and and continue to live as those who have departed would have hoped for.

You have already done that so often, so there's no reason to be less of that peson than you already are.

You're doimg a wonderful job with yourself and your son and I am proud of you and I will always stick by you as a valued member of this community and I am here for you.

GOOD LUCK coping with your emotions in the coming days, shin up, be strong, keep smiling and no worries okay :).

You are pretty amazing.

Thank you so much Boss Man. Sometimes I am amazed at how much emotion comes out of me when I let guard down. It's like body is a dam, and emotions are the water - one crack in the wall (anniversary of death) and the water starts to seep out, threatening to burst the dam completely if not patched up quick.
Thank you for your kind words and for those BIG HUGS - they really do help. :D

Getting nervous about this weekend's 40 mile race, and it's only Monday! I'll be a basket case by Friday. I've heard from some local bicycle big guns that it is a tough course. Most of them dont even ride it! I'm like "what?" - what have I got myself into?  maybe they are just a bunch of big shots who don't waste their time on local rides, or they are just wimps.
Just gonna take it one mile at a time. Take breaks if I have to, enjoy the scenery, enjoy the experience. Riding with another running friend of mine, we are just gonna gut it out together. 8)
