Best supplements to use when You wont be able to work out

Post by flexy_rexy »

Good morning,

I am new to this site, so hello all. I work out pretty frequently and have some nice arms, legs, butt, and back to show for it. I am proud of progress thus far, but I have a ways to go. Unfortunately next week I hit a speed bump, surgery. I got breast implants 3 years ago, implanted under the chest muscle, and I am getting them removed. I know I wont be able to lift weights for about a month, and when I do come back it is all going to be light weights.

question is this, is there a supplement I could take while recovering for surgery and more importantly, when I get back in the game, that can help with maintaining/building muscle? Just something so I am not starting from sratch. I realize pushing myself too hard in recovery is not an option, and I wont. I am just curious on your advice on what I can do so I dont lose all hard work.

Thanks!

If you're looking for muscle maintenance or building, thne a good concentrate / isolate protein powder with carbs will do. Nothing fancy and expensive with loads of ingredients you don't understand, a value one will do.

Otherwise you could combine BCAA's with a Glutamine supplement, because one of Glutamine's properties, is protein synthesis improvement.

Spend your money wisely. Some supplement products may be expensive and may not work, given your specific condition. Be wary of substituting a product or therapy for prescription medicines. Be sure to talk with your healthcare team to help you determine what is best for your overall health.
