A light Dessert After Dinner Every Night? Bad?

Post by GmaNeedStrength »

I find it terribly hard to eliminate desserts. I actually feel messed up if I do not have a dessert throughout the day. question is.. is it bad to eat welch's fruit candies or fiber one bar.. or special k cereal.. or a cup filled with whipped cream and sprinkles on top after dinner like everyday? Or do I have to just try to get out of the habit or having something sweet? metabolism isn't terribly slow, I'm 5'7 and 160lbs. I know I would be much smaller if I ate better.. but I just want to take the sweets down slowly because I definitely used to eat some type of sweets after lunch and dinner.. sometimes breakfast .

Cereal is not bad. Cereal bars are not bad, except that the ones with Fruit will contribute to impeeded Fruit digestion, as Fruit prefers to to digest alone.

BCAA's are essential amino acids, so your body needs them. Thy yhelp with things like muscle growth and support, so they are very good. The only slight issue would be if you ate them like sweets, as you might get some kind of side effects from effectively overdosing on them; or maybe it would sound better if I said megadosing them.

What effects would transpire I cannot say as I simply don't know. Although you wouldn't be likely to get Kidney stones, I don't think as I'm 95% certain, none of the BCAA's can result in stones when consumed excessively.

The only other thing, is that All Amino Acids have a nitrogen bond, and nitrogen can be converted to Uric Acid which can collect in crystal form round the joints and cause gout.

So can Xanthines in Methylxanthine sources, like Caffeine, Theophylline in Tea and Theobromine in Chocolate.

So if you had a high protein diet with a goodly amount of daily Caffeine in, then BCAA's could inrease the risk of Gout, but you shouldn't be overly concerned about this, as I doubt you would consume them, like they were going out of style.

There are healthier ways to have something sweet, and I think switching to natural, unprocessed foods would help wean you off the sugary stuff. Here are some suggestions, based on the preferences you listed:

- A small portion of fruit with real cream instead of whipped cream and sprinkles (fruit sugars come with more nutrition than processed sugars, and real cream is better for you than whipped cream in a can)
- A small bowl of oatmeal with splenda and milk instead of special k (unprocessed cereals are more nutritious and lower in sugar)
- A fruity herbal tea with a little bit of honey
- A hot cocoa made with milk, cocoa powder, and splenda
- An apple with your favourite nut butter (apples are really sweet and nut butter helps you feel satiated so you don't want to eat anything else, almond butter is favourite)

So can Xanthippe in Diethylaminoethyl sources, like Caffeine, Theosophical in Tea and Theo bromine in Chocolate.

No offence intended, but why have you quoted part of message and misspelt the last bit?

If you're attempting to boost how people perceive you, from an intellectual standpoint, it's not something I'm comfortable with to be honest.

What about some sugar free pudding? You could also make some protein pudding out of plain Greek Yogurt and a good flavored protein powder. I don't think a little something at night is harmful as long as it's not full of sugar :)

Just realized this thread is a little dated!
