Sodas!
I Want to share something with you I thought was very interesting! Maybe some hope, for some of you reading this. Well we all know sodas are bad for us, I don't think anyone will debate that one..lol So wife has made some effort herself to become more healthy. (when you get in shape its VERY contagious.) So she thought the first thing she could do is cut out Sodas. She hated water...... had to put those water flavorings in them at first (just a tiny bit) until she finally developed a REAL healthy thirst for just plain old water! Iv always loved water and she drinks at least as much as me. Now that's some encouragement (I hope) for people who are trying to choke water down because its healthy but you don't normally drink it..lol Heres the funny part.. she thought after about 7 months she would have her first Dr. P. as a once in a while type treat. she took one small drink and threw it out! It wasn't that she decided she shouldn't drink it.....She Couldn't stand it...All she could tell me is it tasted just like what bug spray smells like. people really have to get used to the taste of all the chemicals we put into ourselves in order to become addicts.
Re: Sodas!
That's great and I'm sure she feels much healthier because of it.
wife and I drink a lot of water with lemon but are both guilty of drinking diet soda as well. Maybe we will wean that out one day..

That's great to hear that your wife finally learn to love water and hate sodas. partner and I used to love sodas a lot and we couldn't stand a meal without it. But when we both experienced having kidney problems, we started to realize that we should start a healthy living and start off by cutting sodas in our meal. This healthy move is not just for us, but most especially for our kids that we become their good examples.

Re: Sodas!
I notice that when I start letting sodas creep back in to diet that I swell up from water retention. When I completely cut them out and only drink water I lose about 10-12 pounds in water weight which is pretty significant. Also, to give you a further indication of how bad sodas can be for you...I've heard you can take a piece of metal such as a nail, leave it in a soda for a week, and the nail will dissolve from the acidity of the soda! Pretty scary to think that's traveling through /your body.

Love reading things like this! I grew up having a cup or can of pepsi everyday, I am petite and was very active all the way through college, playing many sports and being a collegiate athlete. While in college I didn't drink soda as much because it was around me all the time like it was at home. I realized I didn't need to have it or even want soda everyday, which was a nice feeling. I still do love soda, but only really want it maybe once a week or so. So I like to let people know that while I didn't need to lose weight or get extra fit/tones, I lessened soda intake because once in a while still fixes cravings
