Know of Protein Samples to try out Flavors?
Hi! I am wondering if anyone has ever found samples of protein powders for sale. I am super picky about flavor and want to find something that I like. I have tried some before that I hated and ended up throwing away the whole container. What a waste. Side note: What are your favorites?
Thanks!
Sarah

I think there should be more sample packs available in stores, I'm like you - I hate to buy a huge container for $30 and then hate it.
Body Building dot com offers some free samples, but I think you have to buy at least 1 thing to get the free samples.
Also Optimum Nutrition has a 16 flavor variety pack you can buy.
Hope that helps!

Hi Sarah,
Dymatize Iso 100 is great with only 1 gram of carbs per scoop. Favorite flavor is Cookies and Creme, plain choc, or Pina Colada. I also like their Elite Xt brand which is a slow release protein that I drink at night in Fudge Brownie, Blueberry Muffin, and Banana Nut Muffin. I was told that the flavor developer at Dymatize Nutrition used to develop flavors for an ice cream company and that's why they taste so good.
True Nutrition makes a good Peanut Butter protein too!

You might find protein drinks in plastic bottles or cartons more your thing, as then you could buy one companies product and if you didn't like it, never buy it again.
However you might find compared to buying powder in bulk and mixing it with water it might be a little more costly to do it that way, then again possibly not.
You can however alter the taste of protein powders in subtle ways, by adding things like vanilla essence, ground ginger, ground nutmeg, cinnamon, mocha powder, or a bit of honey as examples.

Great idea! We also buy plain vanilla and choc so we can add extra ingredients. Fav shake- 1 scoop vanilla protein, frozen blueberries, Greek yogurt, sweetener to taste, sfree almond milk, 1 scoop dry oats, blend w/ ice and drink!!

To be honest I'd never gone through supplements, powders and all since few yearsSarahFellows wrote:Hi! I am wondering if anyone has ever found samples of protein powders for sale. Actually skin is really sensitive and anything that I try new so before using it I need to be 100 times sure that it should not react to body so I normally used to take only natural supplements, fruits, milk and Manuka honey, vegetables, shakes etc.

Tera's Whey protein is the way to go. They offer protein in a wide variety of flavors, such as coffee, bourbon vanilla, chocolate, blueberry, pomegranate cranberry, and acai berry. I like the bourbon vanilla the best. They have an rBGH free starter kit which comes with sampling packets of a variety of flavors, a can of natural vanilla whey, and a blender bottle that can be shaken or attached to most blenders. It is $34.00. If you don't like any of the flavors, you still at least go the blender bottle.
They also have single serving pouches which go for $2 - $3. The key to finding a protein powder that you like is finding a product that has variety in flavors and purchasing options. Because of this, Tera's Whey protein is a stellar choice.

Hello,
I am a personal trainer and own an athletic supplement company. I bet you can guess which one
Anyway, the reason samples are not readily available is honestly cost. It costs us as a company more to make a sample then it does a jug per serving. Also, the price of a sample is way higher then a serving in a jug to the consumer. This means less people buy it and it usually goes to waist in the stores. The only real time samples in opinion are useful are trade shows. But the best way to sample products is going to a trade show where the vendors make you the actual drink in person or have 2oz cups for you to try the pre made products.

I will have to check your company out!
The only time I get hands on protein samples are when I attend BB-ing competitions and the vendors are there passing out all kinds of goodies.

I like the Kirkland Isolate brand at Costco... It only comes in chocolate or vanilla but the price is decent and by comparison the protein is higher and there is less ingredients and sodium than many of the products out there. Only preference but another option to look at.

Had no idea Kirklands put out an isolate available at Costco. I've seen ON, Muscle Milk and EAS sold there but not Kirklands. I will look next time I'm there, thanks!

I'd love to find some protein powder samples, too.
If you're looking for a new powder, favorite so far is MyoFusion Elite. Either chocolate or vanilla ... I've also heard peanut butter is great too. They're delicious mixed with almond milk, regular milk or in shakes. No chalky flavor whatsoever. Kind of scary how good they are!

I haven't seen it at our local Costco. Our's carries: Cytosport, Muscle Milk, ON, and Betty Lou's. Now I am curious....

It is Kaizen (sp) and I love the flavor, 120 calories and 35 grams of protein for 1 scoop. It is a 2 kg Jug, Whey Isolate.
