Hey Everyone,
I have never been the workout type, and you can tell by looking at me.
I have been dieting since the beginning of December and its going well so far. I dropped from 225 lbs. to 185 lbs.
I'm at the point of where I am at an acceptable weight but not very strong at all and I have never really been to the gym.
I have been wanting to workout but not sure what to do. All I know is that I want to gain muscle, I am slightly clueless when it comes to working out.
I am 21 years old, 185 lbs., and around 5'11". I have access to a gym at College if that helps.
Any suggestions of a workout?

This is something that might work for you. I have posted it before but it's been modified for your circumstances.
Squats, 2 sets, 10 reps
Lunges, 2 sets, 10 reps
Deadlifts, 2 sets, 10 reps
Bent over Rows, 2 sets, 10 reps
Bench press, 2 sets, 10 reps
Shrugs, 2 sets, 10 reps
Planks 30 seconds.
You'd do this 3x a week on alternate days.
As for what to use, I'd start off using on Bench press, deadlifts, squats and bent over rows, the second smallest barbell you can fine, then on lunges, the third smallest dumbbells and the second smallest ones on shrugs.
Add 5 seconds on to planks each week until you're doing between 90-120 seconds and increase the weight every 1-2 weeks a little bit.
After an adjustment period of around 6 weeks, your body should be ready for more intensity.
How does that all sound?

I have no problem going for 5k runs a few times a week, but I don't enjoy going to the gym and trying to workout and seeing everyone else lift way more than I can though.
I'll work on making myself go though,

Welcome to the board Chris. I see that BossMan has already given you great advice, but I just wanted to say congrats on your progress so far! This lifestyle sure can be become addictive

Don't worry about it Chris, it's not about training around people who do more than you, as they had to start out somewhere, somehow, so don't feel funny about being around them, as many people will either ignore you or be friendly, not take the rip and any that do, which is highly unlikely, just ignore it
