Throw Away Your Bathroom Scale!

Post by FitnessbyDanielle »

Throw away your scale

Do you wake up every morning and weigh yourself? Why? Your weight means nothing in terms of results because it does not tell you whether you are losing fat or muscle.

Weight is also highly dependent upon hydration. If I weigh myself, chug a glass of water, and weight myself again, the scale will go up. But, did I actually gain any weight? Nope!

Starving yourself because you didn’t see the number you wanted on the scale only means you will lose more muscle, not fat!

MUSCLE IS YOUR FAT BURNING FACTORY!

advice to you is to put a big red bow on your bathroom scale this holiday season and give it to someone you don’t like. Ok, Im joking, but you get the point.

Focus all your energy and emotions on developing healthy habits instead of worrying over what the scale said this morning.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BE ASSESSING:
Body fat percentage
How your clothes are fitting
How fast you can complete a mile or how many push ups you can do in a row
Girth measurements of your abdomen, chest, and hips.
Take pictures of yourself every 6-8 weeks and compare them

Say cheese! :P

Put a bow on the scale and give it as a gift! HA!!

Good advice. The mirror and how your clothes fit are the best judge.

I rarely hit the scale - I agree with Alinshop - mirror and fit of clothes are the best indicators

...I have a scale, I have a big red bow and I do have a couple people I could give it too...I guess I need to decide who really deserves it
