i was glancing through a weight loss blog. the guy in about 3 months went from 355 to 280. losing about 75 pounds. At that point he still had 60 left to lose. I believe he was eating about 1600 to 1900 calories a day and doing a lot of cardio.
Do you think that's healthy boss? In a way i can see why it's a good thing. Because i think fast weight loss would help with motivation you know. i mean if i could lose 75 pounds in 3 months how good would you feel?? Any thoughts on this? By the way he has been able to keep this weight off after he lost it. He didn't have a lot of saggy skin but there was definitely some in his stomach.

It's a bit too much for me. He ws losing around 7.3lbs a week, which ot me is about twice what he should have done.
I'd have suggested he have around another 500 calories a day, as he may have been affecting his muscle mass negatively.
Howeer i'm in no position to accurately judge his situation, not having any personal testimony from him on this site.

he's the same guy that did this video lynne showed us this a few years ago.
I find his story motivational only complaint with him is:
1. he REALLY REALLY had a lot of support. He had people to exercise and workout with him every day. He in young though and was in college. I think having other people to workout with really helps a lot!! NOt that it can't be done alone though.

Having reconsidered position, not to say I was belittling anything he'd done, he may have lost a fair old bit of water weight early on, particularly if he had cut back his salt intake quite a bit because of his new choices, which I neglected to think about in comments.
I made a mistake before, when I said aroud 7.3lbs lost a week, it was probably more like 6.3, but if you factor in as much as 10lbs of water weight, then the rest of the weight would be 65lbs in 12 weeks, which is roughly 5.3lbs a week of other weight.
Whether he may have a little leftover lose skin around the core I don't know, but his weight loss doesn't look as slightly concerning as I first thought.
However eating less than 2,000 calories when you're training for what he trained for, still might have cost him a bit of muscle and possibly not provided him with as much macronutrient intake as perhaps should be, as things like cholesterol levels, heart health, bone density etc, are not visable in his results, so how good they are relative to his diet changes, we cannot know, unless he published medical reports on his blog which he appeared not to do.
I would still stand by decision to say, he would have been a little wiser eating another 500 calories a day at least, because even if it meant taking a few more weeks to lose the weight, he'd get more macros and just give himself potentially a little bit more overall health.
He is certainly an inspiring person though and should be thoroughly commended for his actions

Re: weight loss blog i was reading
I found a decent blog about weight loss and how to bounce back into healthy regime especially after the Christmas holidays. (not sure if I can put it up here to read or if comment will be deleted) but worth a read. I believe everyone is different in how they loose weight! I know since I struggle to loose weight when siblings just drop the kilos and don't even exercise! But I started changing a few steps in regime that I got from here. Recommends stuff you already know but one thing that I took up was going raw on a lot more of foods.. http://www.fatburnersonly.com.au/blog/h ... r-holiday/
