I don't have any, never do. I feel if people need a reason like New Years to try and achieve anything physical, when they could start straight away, most of those people fail, because of the initial lack of determination.

Doers don't wait, procrastinators increase their chances of failure.

I agree with Boss Man... DON'T WAIT..... Do it NOW..

For the past 3 years or more??... I've always had New Year’s resolutions...
Which is to LOSE WEIGHT....then .....Life got busy…
I stopped and end up beating myself for failure.... (EAT)

Few months ago, I reached all time high weight ever in life 183 and I’m only 5’4.
I didn’t wait … I changed eating habits and try to make time for the gym….
If I don’t have time for the gym, I work out at home...

Now.. I’m currently 168 and have 35 more pounds to go!!! :)

So... Don't wait... do it now and look good for new year!!!
Good Luck to all.....

Nice story, good results, great ethos. Totally agree with your more successful approach. It's a bang on the money approach.

I did that, recognised lifestyle was okay, but exercise would benefit more as well, checked a local gym that day, started next day, never looked back.

No ponderign it for a week or too, then going off it. I finished first workout with 48 hours, of making that decision to begin the process.

Best and most decisive thing I ever did, period.

well you all have a point, but I guess new year for others is such a big thing in a way that it serves as their turning point where they get the drive to finally do this and that whether it's a simple or complex change. :D

I don't understand the concept of making a change on the first day of the year. Dates and times just don't come into play for real change to occur.
People make real changes due to an event that scares, shocks or impresses the hell out of them. Maybe it's a physical exam with scary results, an off-hand remark that cuts to the bone or meeting a person that serves as a role model for you.
I just read an amazing article on transformations that really hits the mark. An New Years day has nothing to do with making resolutions that stick.
Bottom line is, if you want change in your life, then one must wake up, get out of denial and start working to make it happen. The trigger can be painful, but nothing worth while is easy.
Oh yeah, happy holiday too!

they're a bit false really...you have a big new yrs eve, miss your resolution and say you'll start tomorrow so you've already failed...

and dalts don't get bigger at the expense of speed...focus on getting stronger without increasing muscle...there's not many 200pd sprinters at the olympics (closer to zero)

bush would have trainer everyday from his last college game until draft day and probably paid someone an absoulte shitload to train him too...no cheat days, no "easy" workouts, no short cuts like the way it should be
