How do I maintain goal weight?

Post by nombu »

Hi Gays
I need your advice out there, since 2006, I have managed to loose atleast four (4) dress sizes following the French Womens' Diet. From a size 40 down to a size 32, that is such an achievement for me. Now I believe that I've lost enough weight and I want to maintain this weight I've reached. I still follow the same diet and exercise 4 days a week, mom complained that I've lost too much now and I should stop, I know our mothers complain about most things but I believe her this time. I need to know how do keep this weight without gaining or loosing more weight?

LOL! I don't know about you guys but I'm definitely not gay. I assuming that was supposed to say "guys". :)

First of all.... Great Job on the weight loss! Thats fantastic!! In order to maintain that weight I would do what you have been doing only maybe up your calories a bit if you're still losing. You want to find a balance between calories consumed and calories burned. You could post what youre currently doing for nutrition/exercise to give a better idea of what changes could be made to prevent further weightloss. :)

Poster's from South Africa, so if you say "hi Gays" in a South African accent it kind of sounds normal .

As said earlier, just make a slight adjustement to your caloric intake, and don't worry. You don't need any drastic changes from the looks of it.

Not heard of the french Womens diet before though.

Swanso... I'm glad I could make your day! You crack me up. :)

I don't know what a south african accent would sound like and I certainly don't know what the french ladies diet is. Sheesh! I think I need to get out more!

South Arican accent, white or black sound totally different, as white is derived from Dutch in a sense, as the Boers that fought in the Boer war agaisnt Britain, were descended from Dutch nationals I believe.

As for a French womens diet, I don't think it matters that much what it is.

Hi Guys
As a South African woman, and being black, there is not that much different in the word Gay or Guy. As for the French Womens' Diet; it is believed that out of ten (10) women in France, only one (1) is over weight. This is so, because they don't stress about what kind of food they eat as long as the food is well prepared. The secret is to prepare the food yourself and don't depand on take-aways for lanch or otherwise! Always make time to have a meal and don't rush whilst doing it, and have a sit down meal every time as well as they dont eat after 6pm or say 5 hours before bedtime. always take a long walk every where, ie: if you work in an office environment and you sit down all day, when ever you wish to go to the bathroom always take the long way to the bathroom.

Thank you all for responding, and thanks for your advice.

they use a lot of oils too so plenty of omega 3's...of course french women are 'built' to eat like this from their ancestors much like asians are built to handle a lot of rice without the fat gain as it's in their "genetics' so it wouldn't work for anyone

toilet is only about 5m away (small house) so maybe i should do some push ups on the way to burn those cal's i don't get to with a longer walk...

The French also of a lot of drinking with their food, so that's why there are less drink drive incidences and alcohol fueled violence in France. Certainly compared to Britain.

Thankfully I neither drink nor drive, so I'm responsible for none of those crimes.

Boss Man

You don't drink nor drive? Where's the fun in that? I for one don't drink but I do drive. I'd sometimes drive brother and his friends when they out jolling. I really do enjoy the company of drinking people. Though there is two kinds of drunks the funny and the eritating drunk. so what do you do for fun.......Besides being here on line chating to (some what) "interesting people"
