Hey name is Sara, I'v been pretty bored this summer and gettin in shape is a thing I relize I really want to do. I'm pretty much just starting this kinda life style. I'm skinny but I want to gain a lil weight (In muscle) and really get in shape. Now I was just woundering if anyone had any tips on motaviting yourself, maybe building your self esteem :?: And how to stick with this. It would be very appreciated.

Thanks :)

Well usually to put on muscle you eat a lot.

Diet: go to the diet section and read "read before posting"

For lifting weights look up the waterbury method by chad waterbury.

What is up with all the good looking women finding this forum? Did we like put out an advertisement or something?

Keeping a exercise journal helped me a lot. Also, you might try to find someone else to work out with and help keep you accountable.

Welcome Rybek,

Definately a workout diary, log, whatever you want to call it. I recommend you take body measurements once every week or two weeks and front, side and back photos with these measurements. Use the same scale all the time for your weight and have your body fat measurements taken about once every 1 to 2 months. Log these.

Also note what you did in the workouts so you can track your progress and track your diet as well. Its easiest to get advice and make any changes if you know what you have tried and the effects you felt.

Sara welcome to the forum, this is the place you want to be for surport and tips. I think the greatest form of motivation comes from your mind and is a mental battle not just physical.

If you set respectible achievable goals and you see changes then thats all the motivation one should need.

Houstan Texan haha you spit straight fire, your game is heaps good

Nothing keeps me more motivated than doing all the right things. Eating a very strict diet, drinking over a gallon of water, good form in the gym.

Once you do that for a while...your body changes will become noticeable and provide even more motivation.

Stay strong willed, educate yourself, and change your life. :-)

Seeing changes in yourself towards what you want is great motivation in itself. But lets face it everyone, having one person notice and say something to you is great motivation and ego boost to keep you going for quite some time.

Keep up the good work everyone.
