Thank you swan! I appreciate your response. I went and read that article. He sounds like he knows alot. What he said does make sense. If i can not lift own bodyweight why am i trying to use a machine or a dumbbell.

lyrical who said you need to be 163 lbs? throw out your scale girl!, use a tape measure and a camera (front, side and back shots in your bathing suit) You will know more about your progress from this than a number on a scale which is simply the amount of force your body exerts with gravity upon a springy device.

If you are refering to your height weight chart then throw it out! THESE ARE GARBAGE!!! Worth less than the paper they are printed on, poor trees to be used to print such trash as height weight charts, its equivelant to hate posters against races and religions.... not worth being printed! The number of people that strive to hit that specific number or else they are too fat or too skinny, blah, blah, blah. Trash Trash Trash!............

Sorry to rant......

Honestly lyrical, use the photo's and tape measure, if you go by the scale you'll never be happy, and its a very bad, bad method of measurement. The scale cannot read the difference in a week if you lose 1 lb of fat and gain 1 lb of muscle, your weight remains the same. However, for comparison sake, the size of your thumb would be a lb of muscle and the size of your whole hand would be a lb of fat. Tape measures and pictures will show this, the scale won't.

So if your goal is to be frustrated and to fail then use the scale.

If your goal is to be happy with yourself and your acheivements in how much better you feel and look than use a tape measure and pictures.

Cheers
