Sweatshirts while working out?

Post by LoudAccord »

Why do people wear sweatshirts and sweatpants while at the gym? I would think it would be to sweat off some pounds but I see guys trying to put on the pounds wearing them too.

Just something that crossed mind.

i'm pretty sure that it helps you lose weight, but that's really only water weight that will help for short term weight loss -- like if a wrestler needs to shed some weight before a meet. i don't know if it has any other effects really.

Maybe it's just to keep warm.

they don't shed wt...yes you sweat more but the fluid goes right back in when you eat and drink again...so really i don't know why...if you can't warm up while training then obviously you not really having a go

Self conscious of there bodies? Comfort?

Perhaps your curiosity would be best answered by asking those individuals?\

I do it to stay warm but then start stripping down once I start to get warm. I have seen people in gym wearing the sweat suits that look like garbage bags to help them sweat more. It is definitely just water weight IMO

I knew a guy that would workout with 2 or 3 sweat shirts on plus a nylon waterproof sweat suit. One day in the gym he went into cardiac arrest because his core temperature had gone up too high. Luckily there were several members of that gym that were doctors and one of them was able to revive him.

He could not workout for over a year after that so that the doctors could monitor his heart and the gym owners kicked him out after they spotted him working out in the same outfit again.

You should dress to be comfortable to maximize your performance. As soon as you feel warm, strip off some clothes. If you work out while you are over dressed your performance will suffer.

Packard, HEHEHEHE, I'd be naked if I stripped down when I got too hot, HEHEHEHEHE, although, perhaps because Shelly wears a tank and shorts and so do I...... oops different countries  , (teasing you Shelly, keep up the hard work though! It's paid off!)

Cheers

Hopefully it's just because they feel chilly. Seriously though, I've had quite a few people tell me they wear plastic bags during their workouts so they lose more weight. Aaaahhhhhhhh! Things like that make me want to pull hair out.

The Hooded sweatshirts with front pockets are 35 with shipping and handling. We used to have them on here but they really never sold. If you want one let us know size and color buddy. 8) 8)

Have them on here? When did Shapefit sell Hoodies? I'm not aware of this.
