Soy Protein as good as Whey Protien??
I am lactose intolerant, and I know whey protein is a dairy product. I think it may be causing bloating for me because I am lactose intolerant, I mix shakes with water and seem to be retaining a lot of water over the last week. I am looking into soy protein but wanted to get some opinions about it. Is it as efficient as whey protein, or should I take pills to help digest the whey protein?
There shouldn't be any Lactose in Whey, as Lactose in in Milk, and Yohgurt and Cheese, and Whey is a byproduct of Milk to Cheese conversion.
Soy would be fine, but might possibly not digest as fast as Whey, but would be okay.
The water retention thing could be related to Salt.
Unless you've been taking whey for a week, then I can't see a possible connection really.

I use sea salt on some of veggies, is that a bad thing. I usually do this to add some flavor to the veggies I eat. Is there an alternative to seasoning that I could use for flavor?
I am a soy protein hater. I don't like enything about it, altho they say fermented soy is "ok". opinion is stay away from soy, its a health craze backed by little to no hard facts and too many bad things come up as an issue with non-fermented soy. Have you tried different types of whey protein to compare your water retention issue? Id try that first.
