Encouragment and Self Motivation

Post by Voluptuousme »

I'm having a lot of trouble losing weight. I can't find any motivation. I hate being fat and I hate looking at body. I have a stationary bike but it is so uncomfortable. I get so angry when i work out and I'm uncomfortable. I know that is normal for people who don't work out all the time. I really wish i could afford a gym membership. I got one before i got pregnant. I had a trainer. She was so cute and sexy. Not that i was attracted to her. lol. but i was jealous. She gave me some great things to do to build body and train it. Makes me sad because i really thought i was getting on the ball. then it all went to shit.

put inspirational posters up were you workout, stick some music, think of the compliments youll get when you reach your goal, imagine walking down the beach in a bikini and getting that wolf whistle which youll grow to hate as it happens so often now :D

things like that should help.

This is one way to do it.

Do Total Body Training, and add some Cardio into the mix.

Day 1. TBT

Day 2. Cardio

Day 3. TBT

Day 4. Day off

Day 5. Cardio

Day 6. TBT

Day 7. Day off

If you have problems with an Exercise bike, you could try recumbent, or possibly something else like a Stepper perhaps.

As for the diet, you should be looking at around 2,100 calories approx, for you needs, as you're getting your 1,800 female average, and an extra 300 on top for exercise.

There's plenty of foods you can have.

Lean Meat and Poultry.

Peas, Beans, Lentils, Mushrooms, Rice, Pasta.

Soy including Tofu and Nattokinase, (fermented Soy with added bifidus).

Low Fat Cheese, Yoghurt, Eggs, Peanuts and Nuts.

Powdered Flax and Whole-grain.

Fruit and Veggies

Healthy Oils, and seeds, like Cold Pressed Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Sesmae Oil, Canola Oil, Sunseed, Sesame Seeds etc etc.

Fish

With Fish because of the Mercury I would limit it.

If you're eating stuff like Tuna, eat it 2-3 times a week max, to allow better chelation prospects for the Mercury.

For low mercury stuff like Salmon, you can go for daily consumption but I'd say go for 100g,, (3.5OZ), max, and either have that as a portion, or 2x 50g per day.

You can use things like Peas, Beans, Lentils, Rice and Mushrooms, to compensate for some of the lost Protein in that instance, then add other things like Veggies back in as a Carb booster.

With Fruit, give it 10-15 minutes to digest, then eat the rest of a meal, to allow better Fruit, digestion, but owing to the possibility of some fruit Sugar converting to Fat in the Liver, you could forget Fruit, (except Tomatos, Cucumber and Chiles), in the last 3 meals, even maybe meal 3, as you have other options like Veggies, Whole-grain etc etc.

You should be looking at eating around 6 times a day, every 2.5-3 hours.

The main thing is here, it will take time, but it can be a rewarding thing, as long as you give a lot of yourself to it.

I know it's hard to feel good about yourself, but just keep reminding yourself, of all the positive qualities you have, regards personality, Heart, character etc etc.

You definitely have a lot to offer others, and you need to keep thinking of the good things about yourself, and reminding yourself, you deserve to feel truly feminine and totally worthwhile as a person.

So don't be downhearted about things. You're one of many who have come and gone to a better physical place, from a situation like this, and the first thing to do is be proud of taking these measures for yourself. It shows you have the ability ot love and care for yourself.

Don't look at the past with dissapointment, look to the future with optimism, and hope and belief in a better, healthier person. A person you ultimately deserve to be, because you ARE worth that to yourself don't you think :).

Thank you so much you guys. All of you say true things, The boss Man really inspired me. Man you really laid it down for me. Thank you.

I was doing some research online and I am going to do (the Master Cleanse and Salt water flush) so i can start out fresh. Good food, lots of energy. i'm not sure how long I will last but every little bit counts. If you have any comments on these ideas please feel free to say so.

i'm guessing the TBT is on this site. Cardio will be easier now that the weather is clearing up and i can start going to the park again with baby.

I will upload photos in a few weeks. keep an eye out.

Cleanses are pretty blerch. Many cause mineral and vitamin deprivation for days, then you just put weight back on.

Don't bother.

Your trainer can be one of your motivations to fat loss. Just be persistent and follow the instructions of your trainer. Good luck to you and besides working fun is also fun!

weight has gone up and down many times with stupid fad diets and cleansing…
I think people call that... Yo-Yo diet?

I hated body and health… All I do is complain and eat process food (fast food!!!)
I only worked out once a week or once every 2 weeks with 1 hour of cardio…..

But… I educated myself by reading and researching… Also post questions asking help and advice…
It took time and lots of frustration of NOT seeing results .....

I posted a picture next to bathroom mirror and made realistic goals… NOT 45 pounds in 2 months….
But 5 -10 pounds 2-3 months...

Its been almost 5 months in to it…. jeans fit way better now!!
And… No, no one did that wolf whistle on me.. but I’m OK with that….
(beside fiancé might have a problem with that :P )

Co-workers and friends are complimenting me - even asked what diet I’m doing and what pills I’m taking..
(Motivate me even more!!!!)

I told them…. I watch what I eat (lean meat, complex carbs, good fats)
I eat like 6-7 times a day!!! – NO diet pills just supplements!
Work out 5 times a day… weights and cardio… and 2 days of rest…

But overall…. It just takes time friend… yeah, being overweight is hard and when getting started can be frustrating.. But keep posting, asking questions, and keep educating yourself…
Don't be so hard on yourself....

Like Bossman said:
Don't look at the past with dissapointment, look to the future with optimism
The fact that your here... You're on your way to being healthier & better!

YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!

Good Luck!!!

Putting off Cleanse

Post by Voluptuousme »

I think it is important to start over with a clean body. Reading about all the toxins and how getting rid of them rejuvenates your entire body and not to mention your drive. Which I hate to say it has gone down hill quite a bit. husbands wonders why i don't hop on him like i used to. I went from being on top all the time to almost never. I did last night because i was feeling motivated. lol I am putting off the cleanse until the 4th. this way i can get back into a routine. The TBT is difficult since i have no gym, i just have myself.

Yoga and all the strength training exercises on this site is about all i can do. Today I feel stressed. Being on here and seeing all the support you all have given me has been a big boost. So Thank you. I will try to answer all of you and make friends the best i can.

Yes having a positive attitude is totally Key. I used to be a size 4, goal is a size 8 or 10 now. i'm a 16 border line 18. :( I do that thing where I get super motivated and work out super hard for 3 days and then i feel stressed and give up. I have to teach self endurance and short workouts through day. I have nothing but time all day. I need to get past this brick wall i'm staring at. What is stopping me? a thought that passes mind every moment of the day.

To be honest, I'm in the same boat as you...I don't like body, I wish it were different. I get ticked off that I work REALLY hard and don't see much change at all where other people make a simple change and lose 30 lbs. biggest challenge now is to work on the way I think about myself, and that's something I'll probably struggle with whole life. If I work hard, eat right, and am able to be active, that's what's important, right? Not that I can fit in skinny jeans. Maybe that's something you should think about too? Not having a goal to be a size 0 but to be healthy?

Just an idea. :D

You can do a lot of exercises at home.

Bodyweight Squats.

Hamstring curls, kneeling on a mat, striaht Back, one Leg parallell to your Back and away you go.

Press-ups.

Dips using stairs.

Leg Raises.

Planks

Torso Twists, using a Mop or Broom. hold the Mop or Broom on your shoulders, twist left to right from the waist.

Reverse Curls with a Mop or Broom.

Bent over Barbell Rows, with a Mop or Broom.

Deadlifts with a Mop or Broom. Just put the mop or Broom on a couple of books, to elevate it off the floor.

So there's ways of doing these things at home.

Welcome to the forum! I do know how you feel. Once motherhood comes into play for us, it's really hard to make ourselves a priority. It took me a very long time to commit to doing something for myself everyday, but once I did and made that option to be in good health and take better care of myself, I can honestly say I'm a much better wife, mother, friend, and co-worker than I ever was before I really got serious. Plus having a son who insulin dependent with Type I diabetes and knowing that exercise helps control blood sugar levels, set forth the precedence that I needed to be an example for him by doing and not just telling. Being fit has changed life and I wouldn't want it any other way.

I posted a picture of myself from a birthday party I had for one of kids. I looked horrible. I hated that picture and used it to motivate me by posting it in bathroom. Then I took a picture of myself in a bathing suit and posted that too. Front pose and back pose. It was gross. I was so mad at myself for letting the "oh well this is just the way I'm gonna look attitude" take over and hated that I let myself go.

I started with a goal, a simple one really. I wanted to run a mile without feeling like I just ran a marathon. I began walking with a friend at our local high school track and eventually got up to that mile. Then I traded off with a bike. I loved running so much, but wanted to be a little more caring with knees and back, so I started cycling. Both kids eventually joined our local YMCA swim team so I thought, heck why not give that a try? I found out I'm a much better land creature than sea animal but I did enjoy the different routine. The gym had a temporary 1 month membership deal, kinda like try it before you buy and and I signed up. I was addicted from that month on. I made awesome friends at the gym and when I wasn't there, boy were they giving me the business!

I found this site and started asking one of the personal trainers on here some questions. She offered on-line training at a very nominal fee and I psyched myself up for first triathlon. The feeling of crossing that finish line was one I will never ever forget. I felt victorious, like I could accomplish anything I set mind to. All that emotion over something so simple but done with dedication and hard work, taking care of myself. Such an easy concept, but one that may be harder for others to grasp.

I became a woman on a mission. next goal was a figure competition. Could I do it? Would I have the willpower? The discipline? The determination? You bet I did. And I nailed it. I met amazing people who had overcome so much more than I ever imagined. There were women who were cancer survivors, and those who had been in car accidents, faced tremendous losses that could have held them back, but they chose to compete. To test their bodies, push it to the limit. There was a woman up on that stage with 7 children, lost over 100 pounds and if she was walking next to someone down the street, she may have looked overweight and she was, but she got up on that stage, strutted her stuff and I was so proud of her, it was an honor to be up there with her. She had guts, passion, and it was so apparent by her smile. We still keep in touch to this day.

So I guess point is, what are you waiting for? Excuses are a dime a dozen. Make that commitment. Be a good role model for your baby. You child will thank you for it. Your body will thank you for it! The rewards of good health, determined mind and a strong body are endless and the feelings of accomplishment are quite frankly, priceless. Good luck to you and all your endeavors

That's a very, very good way to say it. Be someone who has a child that knows how to live, won't become 15, 16, 17+ and starting on some bad things like class A's, underage drinking etc etc.

By being that someone, you will be someone who is healthier, happier, and feels more womanly, feminine, and deserving of more praise, and self loving.

The more you love yourself, the more it will transfer to your child, in your abilities and actions :).
