Time of the Month Random Cravings…

Post by Nokie173 »

Ok ladies…. I don’t know if it’s just me or not, but when it’s that time of the month… I get random cravings and it is messing up diet… I find it harder to control cravings! Sometimes... I want something sweet and other times something salty… Like chocolate... I’m not a big fan of it really… I can say No to it without thinking twice… but when I get monthly friend… I can’t stop munching down on it and 15mins later I’m eating a bag of potato chips… and I already ate a nice full meal….. Anybody have ideas how to control it?? I tired reading the nutrition facts so I can see all those Trans fat so I can Stop eating… But sometimes… it’s just NOT working!!! And I get mad at myself for being BAD!

I even get LAZY to go to the gym for being too bloated and crampy!!!!
And even if I go… I’m not productive as I should be…. Sigh…

Suggestions are welcome…

Sometimes the best thing when you have feelings of cramps and bloatedness is just get up and go to the gym anyway. I find working out and the increase movement actually helps the cramping. Even walking uphill on a treadmill helps. For me, being sedentary makes it worse.

As far as the cravings, we all get them I suppose. Discipline is the hardest thing. I'm more a chocolate kinda girl. So I buy dark chocolate and portion control is key. I know it's hard...but when I do cheat, I just think about how much harder I will have to workout the next day if I go over limit.

Uncanny! I woke up yesterday in exactly the same position! :x
I can't help you though - no words of wisdom here... I have the same problem. I just want to eat ANYTHING & EVERYTHING when the monthly monster visits. Yesterday I ate something crazy like 3 pieces of cake & 1/2 a block of chocolate on top of a breakfast, lunch & dinner that were all horribly unhealthy anyway.
I persevered through a lower body workout but it made cramps double in intensity and only served to increase insatiable appetite.

I just give in to the beast. I feel so miserable and bloated & sore that the first day is always a write off.

Today I popped some ibuprofen and went for a easy bike ride. I'm off to yoga & then I'm going to push through a full upper/abs/lower weights circuit. Gotta somehow appease guilty conscience having eaten a house yesterday! :P

Thanks Ladies for your inputs and experience.. I guess we all go though them!

I do go to the gym regardless… Maybe because I made schedule that way.
Anyways… problem is that I have head aches and migraines all the time.
When it’s the time of the month… It’s worse! It’s so painful; sometime I have to call in sick because I need the dark room. I do drink a lot of warm water to help. I usually pop in pills of Ibuprofen 800mg which doctor prescribes. I do try to be as active as I can in the gym.

As for eating.. You’re right Amatlack, with lots of salty snacks.. I want something sweet next!! But like Boopster say… Portion control…. It’s just really Hard tho.. Just like Cassie… (NO self control at all!!!!) And eenwoord… I feel ya.. and those 3 pieces of cake sound soooo good right now.. lucky Im at work and too lazy to get up & out of the building and buy one… :P So.. that's kinda like self control... right?

Cravings, UGH! I thought it was just me. I buy 100 calorie snack packs and they help. You can buy sweet or salty variety boxes. Count them as one of your snacks:)
P.S. Try not to eat the whole box:)
