LOL~! I personally think Planet Fitness is doing it's very best to make everyone feel welcome. All shapes, sizes, ages etc., not just the body builders. I did not feel comfortable with the idea of going to a gym with fat old body (less than perfect) to be surrounded by beautiful buff muscle builders. Don't get me wrong - I enjoy the eye candy!  But when someone obviously needs to work on their general fitness they should be in as comfortable of an environment as possible.

PF is inexpensive and makes it possible for everyone to get healthy! That's a good thing! :)

Pretty face - you must've hit the gym on a bad day. However most people go to the gym to workout not socialize. Don't take it personally.

Yes it takes time, but then more often than not, people who try to achieve things too quickly, (whatever they are), get a failed or at best sloppy result.

I like your renewed optimism, it makes me smile inside :).

I work for the YMCA, so this is pretty biased...but let me tell story! I've lost around 50 lbs while being a member of the Y. Not just one Y in one city either. I've been a member in Minnesota, Seattle and now Mississippi. Every Y I've ever been a part of has been GREAT! Staff is friendly, members become family...I'd rather spend time in the gym at the Y then at home!

If your gym makes you feel like that, it's time to find another gym.

From experience people that are "stuck up" are really exhibiting defensive behavior.

If you don't allow yourself to become friendly with people, then you don't have to worry about being rejected by them either.

In big cities the defensive behavior is further exacerbated by the need to remain safe from strangers. In small towns people are more apt to feel secure and more likely to be outgoing and friendly.

So the next time you meet someone that is "stuck up" perhaps you should feel sorry for their insecurities.

Yes, I probably might feel sorry for someone, who had their head stuck up their that much.

Especially when all they ate all day, was the same Breakfast 6 times

The way i see it, you dont go to GYM to get popular or to waste time.. keep ur head down, put on ur ipod and ur serious face and focus on ur workout and get out!..

In opinion, I have been to a few different gyms...but what i have seen is that the larger the gym the more accepting the ppl are. the smaller gyms that I have been to I have experienced the same thing, like the people are laughing at me or watching fat jiggle. and the large gym that I have gone to there are many more people that one so they see different people all the time so a new face is nothing new to them. That is just opinion.
