I feel like I am not gaining muscle?

Post by surlesc »

I have been slightly working out for at least 4 years but not workouts you do to gain muscle. I mostly did things that gave me tone. Recently I have just started going to a gym lifting weights but I feel like I am not getting results. I have been going for about 2 and a half months and have heard that you can start to see results within the first month.
workouts consist of preacher curl(6 sets, 8 reps, 50lbs.), crunches(3 sets, 30 reps), seated weighted dips(5 sets, 10 reps, 110lbs.), and upper back machine pull back(5 sets, 10 reps, 50lbs.) on upper body days. Leg days I do weighted calve raises(3 sets, 15 reps, 60 lbs.), hamstring leg machine(2 sets, 15 reps, 50lbs.), quad leg machine(2 sets, 15 reps, 50lbs.), and leg press( 4 sets, 20 reps, 90lbs.). I weigh about 140 and I am 5"8 with a kind of skinny build. Please tell me if there is something that might be wrong to gain muscle.

Is this your workout every time you go? If it is then you need to switch it up to shock the muscles and keep them guessing. Don't do same workout every time. search some articles for different exercises you can do for the muscles you are trying to work out

Make sure you get post workout nutrition such as lots of protein right after your workout. Go buy whey protein if you do not have any. You can still get protein out of chicken, steak, eggs, etc.

Post up your nutrition and like he said you gotta shock the muscles doing the same workouts all the time dont shock the muscles.

try super setting if it helps if you can do the 8 reps easy just up the weight
when your doing your workouts make sure your form is nice.
