What a great thread! I just wanted to add what I do to organize workouts:
You need a whiteboard, bristleboard, or a tackboard. And a place to mount it on a wall.
Some stiff paper, like bristle board, that you can cut up (get some fun colors!)
Some cheap masking tape (I get from dollar stores) or tacks
Label everyday along the top or side of the board.
Make squares out of your colored paper and label them with each of your exercies, (i.e. Strenght, Cardio - Bike, Cardio - Jog, Tae Bo, Pilates, etc.)
Then you can arrange your weeks worth of exercises on the board!
I like to move mine off the board as I do them (motivation!)
hubby works shift work odd hours, so this helps me plan week. Plus it lets me choose from a wide variety of exercise videos and activities so I don't get bored. Also helps me make sure I'm doing strength training every 48 hours!
Hope this helps!

No, I need to get some DB's asap. They would help a lot and widen the variety of workout I can do. I found a site with TONS of work out videos to play with so I don't get bored.

I have totally thought about putting stuff up on the wall. the only thing about that is I don't have a board so I would have to like putty it to the wall maybe? IDK But I love the idea. like a chore board only for working out. This morning I got up late again. I don't know why I've been sleeping in so late lately. I got some laundry going. I plan to do a quick 5 minute stretch. And since the neighbor isn't home I can do some jumping jacks, Get the blood flowing. Clean the bedroom a bit. (Its a big clean the house day). Once the laundry is done I can put on work out clothes and get to cardio (bike 20 min) Then an Ab workout I found plus the normal routine which is posted in one of previous posts. Its a plan. I will let you know how it goes.
Basically I plan to be very active today. Doing the housewife mom thing while trying to work out.
It is soooooooooo hot today. I'm already sweating. no air conditioners in Seattle.

lol, no, not a native.
I'm a cali girl.
Today is a play date day. We are going to the park for some fun in the sun. No big workouts today. Unless being a mom counts.
Yesterday I did some AB exercises and cardio bike time. I felt really good about it. One of the moms I hang out with used to be a trainer and she wants to help me. We had a big long talk about what is emotionally wrong with me. Which i mentioned in a previous post. When she gets a chance she is going to show me some full body workouts. And after her baby is about 6 weeks along or older we can start going to the gym together. She encouraged me to take on that community center gym since it is such a good price.
Like I said before that will have to wait a few weeks because money is so tight.
Hope you all have a wonderful day and hopefully I will talk more with you over the weekend if I don't go camping.
xoxoxo

If money is tight, don't, don't don't get Dumbbells. They're a false prophecy.
1. They are inflexible.
2. Take up too much space.
3. If you get too many, you may need dumbbell trees to store them, adding to the expense.
This is a better way to do it.
1 long Bar with either clips or locks; I prefer locks, 22lbs, (10kg), approx.
2 short bars with either clips or locks. 4.4lbs per bar, (2kg), approx.
2 x 22lbs, (10kg), approx weight per disc.
4 x 11lbs, (5kg), approx weight per disc.
4 x 5.5lbs, (2.5kg), approx weight per disc. Some manufacturers make 2kg, 4.4lb ones which are fine instead.
4 x 2.75lbs, (1.25kg), approx weight per disc. Some manufacturers make 1kg, 2.2lb ones which are fine instead.
This allows you to use the small bars on their own, weight free, or increase anywhere from 4kg upto about 20kg.
Plus the big bar can be adjusted upto about 65kg approx.
Also you can rack the discs up into nice neat piles.
Total weight purchased, around 69kg, (140lbs), approx.
If you do this with Dumbbells, you then have to buy seperate ones from 2kg to 20kg, so you actually buy 220kg, (484lbs), approx, and that's not including the long Bar.
So then you have to buy several long Bars with the weight fixed on, which clutter up space, otherwise, you limit yourself, like say not being able to do Deadlifts if you want, as DB deadlifts are a pain to get the technique good.
If you compare freeweight buying to DB buying, you'd buy another 344lbs with DB's, plus you'd probably need a dumbbell tree or two for storage.
Only benefit to DB's is not having to alter the weights on stuff between exercises, which would save a modicum of energy, and make workouts probably about 3 minutes shorter, but it's a very small plus point for DB's over freeweight.
Hopefully that helps

Why did you post that twice?
And on the DB thing, I was really just planning on getting two 5lb barbells. I thought that would be enough. Sounds like I may be very wrong about that.
And your posts always help
Especially the email you sent, Very sweet and very smart. So thank you.
"Its nice and cold today." woot!

Just for fun, Thought I would share
Today: Ran around like a nut to get blood flowing, I threw the baby up in the air a bunch and danced with her. Then I got on bike and did a fast 5 minutes. Then I jumped up and drank some water, Danced around some more, Jogged in place. (talking to myself Saying, yeahhh get the blood flowing feeling good feeling good) lol.
Grabbed a 1 gal. jug of water and used it to do Big Zeros and around the world twists and squats. Then I ran back to the bike and did another 5 minutes as fast as I could, Jumped up jogged in place. Talking to tori (who probably thought I was crazy) got the floor did some ETKOC. Some Leg ups. And some butt raises. Went and got some water and stretched.
Pretty sweaty now. Feel pretty good. Kind of lost some steam so now I think I'm done. Just wanted to let you know what I did today. Now you can all think i'm crazy. lol

Some of them are kind of tough tho! Hey, what about getting a resistance band? Oh, and do you have an exercise ball? They are fun just to bounce on even but there's lots of exercises you can do with them too

butt cheeks hurt. Nice and sore. That means I did a good job right?
I saw some weights that go from 5 to 20lbs simply by taking the discs off using a setting device. Some what inexpensive and really appealing to the female eye. I can't recall the name of it.
And thank for the video link. (I WISH I WAS PLATEAUED AT 161LBS.) I am so glad we came across stuff like that. It keeps the mind open to new ideas and new movements. I love it. All of you have been incredibly helpful.
Today I am doing some grocery shopping. Will be back later. Have a great Sat.
