bike in house get used to soreness first! ha!~

street bike short jaunts maybe after or later after indoor bike.

will need stabilizing muscles anyhow that indoor bike wont do, and wind resistance.

not an expert just a rider on the highway

Check the geometry of your bike if fits on you. Also your saddle, check what type you are using, position, and angle.

The very first thing you need to do is give the bike a going over. The rubber parts may have dried out. You should definitely replace the brake pads which will be ineffective when they dry out. The tires and tubes should probably be changed too. Examine the side walls of the tires for small cracks. Those are sure indications that the tires need to be replaced.

Clean and oil the chain. Use silicone spray or WD40 on the brake levers, shift levers etc.

If it is a high quality bike, every 3 to 5 years you should have the head set cleaned and re-packed with grease; ditto for the bottom bracket.

After the bike has been certified as safe, then just ride. Try shorter trips with very little in the way of hills. Stay with short trips for about a week and then do whatever you want. All that will happen is that you will get tired.

Oh, and don't forget your helmet and lights (if you are going to ride when it gets dark).

I hope you LBS (Local Bike Shop) consider to check your bike geometry for your comfort. To avoid soreness or pain on your sit bones and other. If you are really interested and serious about Biking you can check the Bicycling.com and go to Discussion Area for further ionformation you needed. Good Luck and aside from Helmet dont forget to have Gloves.

Bought a bike in April and had not been on a bike in like 10 years... I bike to work 3-4 times a week and this is a 12 kilometers ride and it feels better than being stuck in traffic and get to work full of anger and tired. You can do it and trust me you will really enjoy it; feels so much better after a good ride!

Bonne randonnée et tiens-moi au courant!

Hi!
Well yesterday i start biking but.... hum i was maybe like almost half way when BANG.. A FLAT... i kind of expect that could of happen since 16 son took bike without permission last year and use it withoug putting any air so he pedal on the rim damaging the inside tire... grrr... when i told him that he use bike he denied it of course so i had to tell him that 2 years ago when i put this bike in the sheed i bought a brand new tire 30$ a little bigger and ticker tire cause i use to get flat all the time.. so i goes oh ok i did anyway i put some air in it and then went for a little 25 min ride and it hold so i said ok i am good its not damade..... hihihi... stupid me...

So anyway i got a flat, and since i forgot lock i had to walk back home for a 45 min walk and then take the bus to go to work.... first experience was not that great....lol.... So now this weekend i will get him to fit BIKE... to teach him a lesson!!!!

I will be on holliday started July 1 until August 4, 5, 6, 7 i work and then i am off until Sept 8 so during this time i think that i will woke up early and bike!

Hum tu parles français... c'est gentil que tu m'as glisser un petit message! Merci, je vais te tenir au courant!

Hi! Pinch Flat is the usual problem. Be sure you have tap on your rim covering your spokes (nut) to contact the tube. Then "Slime" is a great Pinch Flat protection. Avoid the one that install between the tube and the tire. I have a bad experience on that. It ripped tube the end of that tape. Also to put little air on the tube when installing it.
