I was blessed at the age of 35 when I had first and only child...a handsome baby boy.... pride and joy BUT! out of the mouths of babes...

One afternoon when he was 5 or 6 we were settling down for a story and he cuddles up next to me and the next thing I hear is "OW! Mommy your legs gots stickers on them!" Embarassing!!

husband said to me (as he tried not to stare at the top of head) "you can make a hair appointment...if you want to" then started to backtrack when he received steely gaze..."I mean, I like it just fine...I just thought maybe you like to...." mumbles as he backs out of the room!
Ladies who color their graying hair...you know what I'm talking about! You know it is time to get it colored when people stop looking you in the eye when they talk to you and start gazing up at the top of your hair!! It's like OKAY, I can take a hint!

Oh, and on a positive note:
son was watching me working hard, running on the treadmill one day and when I was finished he said "Mommy, I love you, you never forgive up!"
I love that boy! :D

Very cute Fit - kids do say the darndest things! Is that how you spell darndest??? Oh well...

Ok - I've got a good one....one day I mentioned to husband that I was thinking about getting a face lift - he said "if that's what you want honey, it's ok with me", I said "You mean I need a face lift?" Ha!!! So, now every time the subject comes up mostly in jest he says...."No way, no face lift for you! " Actually at the time I needed a "body" lift but I've gotten rid of a bunch of that!

So question: How does one get rid of a turkey neck after weight loss? :(:( The face is going to have to stay the same I'm afraid, just ask hubby! :)

darling beloved was whingeing at me when I was cleaning the sitting room while he was trying to watch TV. The final straw was when I was dusting the TV cabinet, to which he said "your backside is blocking the telly. And it's a big telly"

I can relate. I was 17 when I married but I'm still with hubby. Going on 15 years now. He's learned to be careful about what he says.

For example no matter what I wear or what I cook if I ask him what he thinks his only reply is "Not bad."

I mean what's with that reply?! I honestly want his opinion, if he doesn't like it tell me! But I guess it's better than having him tell me cooking stinks or that what I'm wearing reminds him of his grandma! lol

oldest God- son is 4 now and way beyond his time! We were in the grocery store walking around one day and he said "NINNIE!" (his nickname for me since he was able to speak at all) he started jumping up and down shaking his butt at some lady and he said "Oooh! baby got back!" This lady just so happened to have the biggest rear I had ever seen... I tried to dance with him like he knew the song and scurried into the next isle lol!

I just finished a full body weight workout in basement. I was there for an hour, drenched in sweat. I came upstairs to has after workout whey isolate shake when husband said 'you don't really need that, what you do is not 'real' weight lifting' Mind you husband is a runner not a lifter. I wanted to kill him.

I used to be in a running club that had a weekly group run and on one of these runs I was running slower than the rest (recovering from a painful shin injury) when one of the elite group runners decided to do me the "honor" of running along side of me to "help" me along. As I am struggling to complete the run still in a bit of pain he says "you better not ever stop working out or running...I could see you in no time being one of those "Walmart women"!!! I was so mad and shocked that I couldn't think of anything to say back to that! Being an elite runner sure doesn't give you manners or common courtesy, in some cases it just makes you a faster idiot!! :D

One more of all time favorites said to me was:

"Ya know with all that working out and running you do, you think you would be smaller!" ouch! that one really hurt and took me awhile to get over.

It never ceases to amaze me how many non athletic people are of the mindset that in order to be fit and healthy or compete in sports of any type that you have to be "small" or extra thin. No wonder so many of us (women especially) battle with weight complexes and feel like we are never good enough or "perfect" unless we are a size 2.

This new gym employee saw me working out on the cardio machines one evening. I knew he was checking me out. I remember doing 20 minute run on the treadmill, 20 minutes on the stationary bike and when I went back on the treadmill for a last 10 minutes he comes up to me and says, "instead of wasting your time on these machines you should take a class... "

I look at him and said, "look, I'm a roofer and work 11 hours a day. Coming to the gym is like a hobby, I come here to relax, it's the easier part of workout."(of course it's not a hobby, I just exaggerated 8) ) He was shocked and said, "I would have never guessed, well I'll leave you alone since I know you can kick ."

I'm not sure if he thought I was doing the exercises wrong or if I was working "so hard" to lose weight (but the wrong way?). Anyway, have any other women had men come up to them at the gym to "correct" the way you're working out? Sometimes it's helpful if it's geniune, but other times it's sexist and annoying!

Not too long ago… 2 different times and 2 different guys came up to me while I was doing weights. They told me, I shouldn’t be lifting so heavy weights b/c I’m a “girlâ€

Oh, don't even get me started on lifting and the reactions I get from guys watching me do it. I try to go late in the evening or between noon and 3pm since there are less people. But I think they are getting used to me lifting with them.

Some guy telling people to do Cardio for an hour a day to lose weight. If he was a personal trainer, he either used a crap organisation, or got a phoney certificate.
