Breathing

Post by kif »

Hey, it's me again.

This is last year in high school.. which means I only have one chance left at the Cross Country. For the past years, I have embarrassed myself at any sporting activities. Last year, I came 76th in the Cross Country because I became too dehydrated, too sore and too generally exhausted within the first kilometer.
This year, I wanna come at least 20th. But after all the morning excercises I do such as jogging and stuff, etc. I have realised that I have breathing problems. I am a type who has anaerobic respiration and I perform better in 5 second spurts when I have no air in lungs. I am sometimes short of breath for no apparent reason and sometimes when I'm just doing inactive activities, I stop breathing altogether for about 30 seconds until I realise I'm not breathing. And with this, heart rate is also a tad higher than average.

I think this is a big problem with me trying to get fit.

Can someone help?

Have you consulted a Doctor, Physician or Specialist about this at all?

Yeah, most times, I do. But I've actually analyzed the way I breathe normally and it's very irregular. I keep taking EXTRMELY short breaths where you can't even feel the air move and then I become short of breath and take one really deep breath. Then the cycle goes on...

I measured heart rate and breath rate and I take about 11 breaths a minute and pulse goes at 80 beats/minute.

No, I haven't seen any specialists 'cause everyone always told me it's not that bad and I thought I might get some advice from yous before hand.

i would see a doctor about the breathing thing or make it youir focus to breathe proeprly...you may have to start to breathing loudly like those blokes at the gym do so that you know you're breathing...i've got something for you to try but not on this computer so i'll post it friday
