Creatine and whey protein

Post by rawat »

Hi folks,

i have few queries regarding the intake of Creatine and Whey protein.

Currently, i'm taking whey protein immediately after exercise ( 1 scoop in 8 oz of milk)

Few days back, i bought creatine ( whey is not finished yet). Now i want to know can i take both? if yes then wat will be the right way to take it??

or i should stop whey and take only creatine??

Please suggest me:)

Cheers

no opffense but the fact that you don't know the answer probably means that you're not ready for creatine

stick with the whey which you never stop taking anyway

thats why m asking the Q.

Previously i was taking creatine before workout say 20 mins...and after workout whey but when i bought this new creatine pack...directions to use is different.

Direction to use in new pack

1) Loading period 5 days ( 1 sccop in cold water morning) then 1 scoop after workout.

2) Maintenance period : 1 sccop after workout.

So, just want to know should i ignore above directions to use and continue old way???

You can mix them, or stack them, but what's your current stats?

Give me weight stats, give me one or two lifting stats. I ask, as I'm not convinced you're built solidly enough to get good results off it.

At last i got some positive reply

Here are stats

Lifting stats : Flat bench press : 190 LBs
Squats : same as above
Deadlifts : Arround 130 LBS

Will body measurement's also required??

Please tell me how can i take both parallely and get best results.

swanso5,

why r u discouraging??? Instead of helping out you're demoralizing me??

I suppose this forum is suppose to help, i just asked a simple Q, instead of guiding, you are misguiding?

let me re-edit then buddy:

drop the creatine and eat more actual food, you'll get better results with it once your stronger and bigger

there, happy?

if you had any idea you'd read posts and see that they are all pretty good advice wise too

and that wasn't demoralising anyone, i say it how it is buddy

Swanos

Ohh so u meant that :). I have taken note of your advice but still if one wants to go for it then what is the way.

I'm thinking of this way

Creatine [ Loading stages i.e. 5 days 2 scoops ( before workout) ] and Whey immediately after workout

Once loading is done then normal 1 scoop rest similar??

How does it sound??

well you can load quickly (5 days) or over a weeek or so and both are popular but i'd say the week long one is better as you WILL soak it all up where you may waste some trying to load so much so quickly

2 - 4g/day seems to be best…if you’re peeing more then usual then you’re wasting it as it's leaving your system and taking water w/ it…those who forego the loading phase reach maximal concentration w/in 4 weeks w/ a lot less waste but if you want quicker results then load w/ 10g/day max x 3 – 5 days but will increase chances of side effects…take post workout too not before it

but like i said, you're way off creatine with those numbers...i'm the same wt but have max's of 150kg deadlifts, 135kgs squats and 115kg bench press and i don't use it

If you want to use it then use it I say. It’s not going to hurt you at all it might even help. I have known smaller guys that’s used it and it seemed to help them bulk up a bit. I have some at home but never use it I find it a pain in the to have to drink it every day even on non workout days. I am just not religious about it enough. Only thing I use right now is protein and BCAA’s post workout. I put some glutamine in shake if I am sore as well.

I have never seen Bossman recommend using any supp to anyone. He has a good point they are mostly BS. Its your money spend it however you want. If you’re willing to spend top dollar for a slight edge then I say go hard. Just don’t expect too much from it. Nothing works better then a good diet with lots of protein so make sure you have that in order.

hi swanos sir,

wooow impressive stats :), widout any supplements :). And thanks for the action plan. The problem is this : I'm not able to maintain accurate diet which is mandatory and required to have good physique no matter how much i try. This is one of the reasons i went for whey and creatine. Thought they might help but after looking your stats that too without supplements feeling jealous.

I'm gonna follow as u said.
Hi lens_d,

I agree with you, nothing works better than protein diet but as i said am not able to maintain it and thus went for supplements but now money already spent :(. What to do?? i guess giving a shot is better :).

Boss man din replied, may be he can add more to this :)

Cheers to all sirs here..

As I was going to say, the Creatine would do something but with your liftign stats, it's clear it wouldn't be worth the money.

You have to think to yourself, would you want to spend that money on Creatine, for another 5 or 6lbs of Bench, as that might happen.

People are different, bu I used Creatine in the past, and ir was not worth bother. Price wise based on duration of use, good value, but when your results are pissy, it's still a waste, cheap way to make a mistake at least.

Acually Lens I do promote some supplements, like Protein powders and Glutamine. Don't have a positive or negative opinion of Fat Caps, I don't rave about Fat caps, but I sometimes advise in their favour if people ask.

Other than that, I might suggest stuff like Vitamin and Joint supps, the other kind of supps, but in fairness, as you say, many supplements are expensive, pointless, and half are a load of crap, with a fancy label on. The rest just have results that cost too much to get, when the supplement is NOT the only way to get them, and will probably only help some people achieve max results, about 10-20% faster, but it's a big price to pay, and some will keep paying afterwards, and waste a lot of life savings needlessly, and in a few cases get a medical problem to boot.

lens - have bcaa's pre and/or during trtaining and whey/carbs post

rawta - you have to be strict...you can't out train a bad diet, simple as that..supp's or no supp's

look you can use it but after that has had it;s effect on you then what's the next supp you use? there's not much else after creatine, you gotta give yourself room to progress in...if you start with the most perfect training program in the world in that doesn't work then what do you do?

see what i'm saying? why not just eat properly to get the same results then once food is perfect and you've stalled, then add in creatine for continued development
