Nah with weights 3 x a week & HIIT 3 x a week ( hopefully this week ) Is not time to do much of anything else cardio wise :D..as for swimming..I swim like an otter, with head above the water..never been able to put face in the water.Duno how to adjust HIIT maybe swanso, could drop a pearl of wisdom on this topic ;) Though is easier to reach the 1 min, the heart rate still starts @ 155 & jumps to 165 & beyond still  ( around 170 ish ) so maybe no need to adjust it quite yet ? Heart rate is dropping alot faster than it used to, which is nice.Good god woman 2 mins of sprint ?.. yikes, careful or u will earn title HIIT Ho as well :) Btw while waitin to have an x ray today, I read a magazine with different planks..that look interesting, Take care everyone

LoL… Lynne another title already??
Yeah… 2mins of HIIT is crazy!
I can only do 1min 45secs incline 2 & 8.1 speed.
45secs for Incline 2 & 9.1 speed… Man, I can’t do even a min!

Hey Nokie 8.1 and 9.1 is impressive!!

No, Bonnie, I won't be trying to be the HIIT Ho  It is just that if there is one thing I can do, and have done all life is run. I've never been a good long distance runner (tho' I still want to run a marathon, just to have that "notch" in belt), but one thing I have always excelled at is the shorter races.
So, the sprint thing is right up alley :D I absolutely love doing sprints and speed drills. (kinda like how alot of ladies here love doing the strength training with all the weights :D ) I am so impressed by all the different lifts and squats and lunges and twists and presses that you do Bonnie, even if I still don't know what all the lingo means, it is amazing.

We all have our specialties and areas where we excell more than others. That's what is so fun about "visiting" with you guys everyday, hearing about your latest new exercise...or latest achievements at the gym.
While we may like different types of exercise...the main thing we ALL have in common is our commitment and passion for getting fit and strong and healthy!!! :D

Bonnie, you gotta let us all in on the new planks you read about today. :D

not the ebst vidoe of it...

1 - she rotets her torso as she rows the wt up (stay straight - that's the point of the exercise, it's an anti rotation exercise)

2 - her opposite hip sag out to the side when she rows her opposite arm up too (again stay straight)

good exercise though, i did a variation of it today in workout

Todays workout

Latpulldowns

3 x 8 x 70lbs

with

Pushups (full)

3 x 8

Push Press

2 x 7 x 45lbs
1 x 6 x 45lbs

with

Bent over DB rows

1 x 8 x 25lbs
2 x 8 x 25lbs

Back squat

3 x 5 x 85lbs

Deadlift

3 x 5 x 85lbs

Windshield wipers

3 x 8

Floor crunch with Mediciine ball

3 x 8 x 12lbs

Hanging leg raises

3 x 8

Planks

2 x 30 front
2 x 30 each side

Well all overhead stuff went ok, when I went to do bent over rows, with 25 lbs ..BAM..pain in the delt, though when I switched to 20lbs, was not really alot of pain to speak of.Today was really hard, everything was hard, though it is a time when bitchy hormones r running rampant through system, so I try & allow some leway for emotions etc ( I am a believer in * p m s * as a legal strategy for homicide defense  ) I lessened squat weights, to ensure proper form. Though In gym, is only front view, so how to tell if Im parallel to the floor is beyond me ? All I know is that the quads r fully utilized by them & it looks & feels as though Im down far enough.Yeah swanso that is a bad example video, though I tried two rows & noticed I was not keeping abs tight, lol bit of an understatement ;) For now Ill keep with reg planks, way I see things Ive ALL winter to build myself up & start more intermediate exercizes, need the base muscle first ? & reg pushups which I can only do 24 of in one day:) Lesplease your 135 pushups is INSANE & mighty impressive also :D Youve vote for * pushup Ho * ;) Anyway everyone have a great day, Im off to pamper myself & remain sane :)

Windsheild wipers? - oh - guess I need to take a look at youtube again...I can't believe some of the exercises you guys are doing - 135 push ups!!! Lesplease - you are a wild woman! :) I'm definitely coming in last in that category (not one push up) but as someone said (maybe you Bonnie **CRS** ) we all have our strenghths and specialities - I'm still looking for mine! :):)

Bonnie - I know I'm not doing HIIT right now (will pick it up again when body tells me it's ok) but Swanso had us doing 3 days weight training, 2 days HIIT and 1 day steady cardio - 1 day off (optional steady cardio) - just saying maybe you can replace one day of HIIT with steady!?

Have a great day!

Hey!!!! Just noticed this is 500th post!!!

I just checked out Youtube for Windshield wipers… It looks FUN!!!!
But dang… It seems like a lot of upper body strength to keep you holding.

LOL! I hear ya sister!!!! (you might try having a bit of chocolate...it can cure even the worst of the dreaded PMS  ) - not trying to be a "bad" influence here, just trying to help friend!!!!

- No small feat Bonnie! Be proud of that! :D You are doing a great job of dealing with an injury and finding ways to keep up your workout (alot of people would use it as an excuse to skip the workout and head for the buffet!).

Hey!!!! Just noticed this is 500th post!!!
You don't need to look any farther, Lu for your strengths....just go back and read your journal....you are a powerhouse! A motivator, a role model, an example of what hard work and perseverence can achieve. In fact, it was by reading your journal that inspired me (and many others, I'm sure) to get up off butt and get serious about changing life. :D

Bonnie - fav treadmill lists me a dead (no HR) or Dead (HR of 225!) I sure don't count on those machines to safely monitor HR - but it does worry me when it goes extremely high with HIIT - that's when I put the red safety latch on

Xray? Are you ok?
