Question about timing

Post by Branimir »

Hi,

I just got new job. Yay! Which requires me to take 1 hour lunch break sometime around noon. I am not one of those people who can do nothing for that 1 hour, so I wanna go to the gym (Which is barely 5 minutes away from work. How convenient?) and workout.

Now I want to go to the gym during lunch break, and sometimes after work. (Around 7 or 8) like I always do. I was thinking to do cardio during lunch break and abs. Regular lifting at night. Now is that good plan? Should I lift weights and at night cardio or is this one of those things - do how you like it?

Any tips would be appreciated.

It really depends on your focus. If you want to get bigger, stronger and more powerful then do the weights at noon. By the same standard if becoming say a faster runner is what you want then do your CV at lunch other wise the times gap is sufficient and shouldn't matter. I wouldn't suggest doing 2 a days everyday however, you can quickly get yourself over training. To avoid this vary your workouts constantly including your CV. Mix in sprint intervals with other types of cardio.

Don't forget you post workout meal is the most important for recovery, try a 3 or 4 to 1 Carb to protein ratio and low fat meal within an hour of finishing.
