Bulk first. If you cut, and get your body used to less calories, when you put more back in, they could convert to Fats, as the body would view some of the extra daily calories as excess, and a lot more of your bulk could be "dirty bulking", and result in less muscle gains and more fat gain.

Depends how you eat. If you keep the diet to Lean protein sources, clean Carbs, and mostly EFA Omega Fat sources, then no you won't.

Coupled with an active lifestyle, you'll give yourself the right nutrition and Metabolic environment, to pack on size, without too much Fat.

You'll get some Fat gain, no matter how you bulk, but at least you'll be strengthening other areas of your body like Ligaments and Tendons (Connective Muscle Tissues), and Bones etc etc, which cutting work may not do as well.

Perhaps not, but look at it this way. It would be better physically for you to get another 1/4-1/2" all over of body mass, in 3 months, and have decent Abs strength, even if you couldn't see them properly, than look really wirey, with a semi-visable mildly strong 6-pac.

3 months is not long enough to get soild results, it's just enough to get respectable results, but if you cut now, and get the body used to lower calories as explained earlier, when you want to bulk late Summer early Autmn time, your body will turn some of the extra calories you eat to Fat, and then you'll just get less muscle gain, and more Fat stores.

You'll look a lot better with a little more mass on after 3 months, than a stick with Abs.

You can always get good Bulk, then cut for next summer, and if you bulk right, you'll not get as much fat stores with your muscle, as you might when you cut first then bulk after.

You need to be more zoned into this whole thing, because some average Abs people can see, is bothing compared to stronger Muscles, Bones etc etc all over.

It's a case of comparing some mild improvement in one area, to more improvement all over. No comparison in that instance, the bulk then proves to be the way forward at this early stage.

Having visable but pretty flat Abs, won't be as good, as Abs, that were a little stronger, and maybe were slightly visable.

i can't see mine, but I've got very slight visability if I stretch them, and I'm still nice and flat shaped round the midriff, shaped round the sides, no droop on me. For me It's always about decent Abs strength, not "showy Abs"

For me strength always wins hands down. I'm not one to parade Abs, I'm not that kind of person, but decent condition is key for me, and I've got good levels of Ab strength, and the midriff's kind of flat like a school canteen tray.

Oh and no you aint getting to look at them, so don't ask  :P.

I don't do amateur photographs.

He's definitely got some Abs, or his midriff Skin would be wrapped round his Stomach, and look like some hideous Stephen King movie creature.

No I know what Swanso means, and anyways, what's it matter about the swimming. If you do the Breast Stroke, Butterfly or Front Crawl, your Abs will be mostly face down in the Water, so your girlfriend won't see them anyway.

lol what if im not in the water? I have around 12% body fat. Is that low enough to show abs? And also, when i flex and pull fat a little tighter i can see abs. somewhat like in this picture, but better.

yeah there is a bit there...still try the leg raises and find a rotating type movement (search woodchop exercises and you'll find one that you can do and have the equipment for)...be sure to use a variaiton or add ressitance (wt / difficulty) so that yuo can only do 12 - 15 reps MAXIMUM so as to actually build the muscles up like you would any other muscle
