SORENESS

Post by Doomsday »

Hello everyone,
I usually do 12 sets for chest and I get pretty sore,
For last workout I reduced it to 9 sets, just to
see how muscle would react to fewer sets
and I didnt get sore.

Is soreness a good sign or bad???

and I rarely get sore from biceps? does that
mean im not working the hard enough?

When I get sore in a particular area, for example, shoulders. I will skip working shoulders the next time I work out. I do the full-body routine. It helps the soreness go away for me.

How often do you work your chest? Once a week? Twice a week?

Frequently if you wait too long between workouts you will feel soreness. The answer to that is to put in one light workout in between the heavier ones.

A small amount of soreness is OK in the beginning, but if you have continued significant soreness then I would make adjustments to your workout to eliminate that.

I work out chest once a week on Mondays,
do you mean if I wait too long between sets??

And as a matter of fact chest feels sore
it usually takes 2 days for the soreness to kick
in.

So your saying that if I feel sore it isn't good?

Try scheduling in a light workout in between. Perhaps 3 or 4 sets of push ups would be good.

And see if that resolves the issue.

And yes, I am saying that pain is no good. "No pain, no gain" is largely B.S.

i like the pain is no good theory.

i tried smashing calfs with hammah and all it got me was sore and bruised.. now i just do endless calf raises and no soreness but giant hard calf muscles.

if i get a sore spot its from not work-in that area a few days or

i wrecked sumpin sumpin.

i read here by the experts, diet, timing, breathing and execution are keys to good feeling and look-in good. thanks Packard for your great advice for the aged.
