I think if I lose 10 more lbs of fat, and 5 lbs of muscle I will be in shape I really want to be.

Holy crap man! Great job!

Good luck on those last 10lbs! The last ten are the hardest by far. Stick with it and you'll get there! :mrgreen:

Oooooooooo. Nah. I think I will lose both. I mean goal really is not to lose 5 lbs of muscle, but I am assuming I will lose that much muscle in order to burn 10lbs of fat. I want to weight around 185 lbs. It will allow me to be at most mobile shape for sports I play: Basketball and soccer.

cassiegose, you are unfortunately right. I got from to 230 lbs to 200 in no time, and it was mostly fat weight, but last 2 months I didn't lose single pound. I mean, I know why I didn't, so after new year I will finally make diet plan for month or two which should allow me to lose 10 more lbs of fat. There is been a lot of parting and drinking past two months, so yeah, no surprise I didn't lose any weight.

yo0ur first goal during a fat loss program is not to lose fat, but to maintain muscle mass...otherwise you'll struggle to lose fat

eat and train accordingly

I agree. I know the theory, it is just that discipline with the diet is not ideal right now, and I don't see that changing during Holiday season. So after NY I will come to where I want to come. If I get to 185 without losing any muscle it will be great haha.

Sorry to interrupt your thread Branimir,

But Swanso, can you explain to me the theory? I never heard of this before....if you want lose fat in a fat loss program you shouldn't at first? How do you REALLY know you've gained muscles or lose some? Is there anything that measures that? It sucks here...these things are not available except in expensive gyms...etc.

Skully, the more muscle you have on your body the more calories your body will burn naturally. When embarking on a "diet" if you cut calories too drastically and exercise too hard you'll be burning muscle and fat...while screwing up your metabolism. You really want to try to burn fat while maintaining muscle to keep your metabolism going (plus having muscle has a ton of other benefits). This is why in your case I suggested you really focus on the weights and getting enough protein/calories. Its also why I didn't want you to do the extra cardio in the afternoons.

I see, so basically no cutting in calories...Yep, I know the benefits of muscles...and I'm still working on getting 100grms of protein a day, it's really a hassle to find "quick" things to eat with high protein in it (other than meat...etc.)

focus is on the weights really, I put most of effort there... cardio is honestly very short-lived, so no worries! yesterday afternoon cardio was because I had some "bad food", so I had to burn some of it off at least, instead of "sleeping on it", literally.

Right, at this point you don't need to focus on cutting or counting calories. You've switched from eating unhealthy foods to more healthy balanced meals so that alone is going to cause decreased calories in your diet. Focus on eating enough protein and lifting those weights. Once you get your muscles built up you can focus more on cutting fat.

Right, at this point you don't need to focus on cutting or counting calories. Managed somehow to lose 5 lbs. Now time for last 10 lbs to lose. :s

I can't see the pic. How on earth do you "manage somehow to lose 5lbs"!? I always "manage somehow to gain 5lbs" but never have I lost it. Great job man!
