Re: C-tina's work out blog!
Yeah, that sounds good. Maybe do a weigh in and measurements on Friday mornings, then post them. Just knowing that someone else is there, checking in on you, encouraging you helps so much!rockchick_82808 wrote:You know what, that sounds great! I would love to have a work out partner. Id love to try the pound per week thing. Is there any way you would like to structure this? I've never done anything like this before. Maybe give each other a status at the end of each week?
Re: C-tina's work out blog!
Is weighing yourself weekly the best idea ? ..I find personally that no matter how hard I try, to ignore a pound gained, it somehow creeps to the forefront of the mind, leaving you to wonder, how it happened. When I was up in the 160's I still only weighed myself once per month, well a nutritionist did it for me, btwn the times I seen her I never went near a scale. When your clothes start to loosen, it will tell you what you need to know.If you are eating clean, working out to the best of your ability then the results will come, that scale may affect your mood to much.Just opinion ladies. Congrats on your success thus far & best wishes for future losses

Sounds good to me. Ok this friday it is. I have never done weekly measurements before only monthly so this will be different. Thank you again for askin to be a partner in crime. lol. It means a lot to me.
Would you like to post our weekly stats on here or via message? I'm fine with either one.

Thank you!:)I know what you mean too about the scale. For the longest time that was problem. I hope that the fact I am in a better mind set now, that wont bother me. Hopefully it will make me push harder. Help me notice if it goes up what I had done different that week to cause it. I'm gonna give it a try and see how it goes from there.Bonnie wrote:Is weighing yourself weekly the best idea ? ..I find personally that no matter how hard I try, to ignore a pound gained, it somehow creeps to the forefront of the mind, leaving you to wonder, how it happened. Re: C-tina's work out blog!
Bonnie does bring up a good point about the weekly weighing thing. It can be hard on you if you don't always see a weigh drop. But for me, personally it helps keep mind on it at all times, if I know i will be weighing each Friday. It helps me to stay on track better, even if the scale doesn't move. Taking measurements weekly, also makes me work harder...but that's just me
I know there will not be tremendous changes from week to week, but it just helps me to stay disciplined.
I actually weighed this morning, just to see what damage I did over the holidays....3 lbs gained!!
So I am more determined than ever to lose those pounds, and get serious with diet, exercise. I will weigh again on Friday, Jan. 1st and that will be starting weight to compare to.
I already post progress and workouts on workout journal, so I don't mind posting weekly results there, but any time you want to chat or vent, or whatever you can send me a pm

OMG!
Needless to say goal to workout this week failed. I worked out for two days then got extremely sick! I would of even called in to work if there was some one to cover shift.
I'm so disgusted at self. Because of the holidays I gained a butt load of weight. Went on the scale again today...221! Yeah then did measurements and realized I went up 7in!!!! So I went and threw out all the junk food I had in room. Lemon bars, wafers, and reeses cups. Thankfully boyfriends mom said that starting tomorrow shes not bringing in anymore junk food in the house. She wants the family to eat healthier. There's so many more christmas cookies in the garage. Its gonna be hard for me to not go at them. I'm never like this. Damn the holidays and the junk food that comes with it. I have to say, that's the first time I ever threw out junk food. I usually come up with an excuse and say,"I'm just gonna finish this then no more". I actually took action now. I'm quiet happy with myself I must say. At least that's a start. At least cold has now gone to only coughing. Hopefully tomorrow I wont even have that then I can go back to the gym. God that makes me so sick to look at that nasty number and the inches pile up. ugh! I tell you what, It has given me a hell of a bigger drive to get crap together that's for sure.

Re: C-tina's work out blog!
Glad you are feeling better!...I am SO glad the holidays are behind us! I gained weight too girl, so don't feel all alone. Let's just get back to business and get that holiday weight and more off! It just takes committment, focus, hard work and a little patience (okay...alot of patience!
) but you will get to your weight goal, you are already taking the steps to achieve it. Good job on throwing out the junk food! I used to use that same excuse..."well, I might as well eat the rest of those Oreo's...paid good money for them...", or "don't want to waste this birthday cake", etc. So I am proud of ya for taking the positive approach and just getting rid of it.
So, let me know how you are doing...what is your workout? It might help if you list your daily diet and exercise routine. That has really helped me to be more disiplined to do the work and eat right...'cause our fellow Shapefitters do NOT cut me any slack on workout journal page...LOL! But I am glad for it, it is nice to know that other people care enough to let you know when they think you are slipping, or when you do good...makes it more worthwhile.

Re: C-tina's work out blog!
well, lets start with the work out. this week to get energy back i'm doin the treadmill 45min a day. I keep heart rate up to 170. trainer told me that between 160 and 170 is fat burning zone. this coming saturday friend is interested in goin to the gym with me. shes really insecure and wont get a membership to a gym unless she has someone to go with. that day i will do weight lifting. then every other day after that i will go back to the 3 routines trainer has given me. i'm gonna mix em up tho so i don't get bored. i think after 12wks are up and see how i do on assessment i will start goin back to the classes like yoga ect. to spice up routine. here is a list of things she has given me:
squats 3 sets of 15
rows 3 sets of 15 at 40lbs
ball cruncher3 sets of 15
tricep ext. 3 sets of 15 at 12lbs
lat pull 3sets of 15 at 50lbs
bicep pull 3set of 15 at 50lbs
wall sits 3sets at 1min
hs high rows 3 sets of 15 at 25lbs
teapots 25lbs 3 sets of 15
plank pose 3 sets 15
tg chest press 3 sets of 15 at 30lbs
chest fly 3 sets of 15 at 15lbs
cybex low back ext. 3 sets of 15 at 90lbs
before each workout i do 30min of cardio on the treadmill with the same heart rate.
as far as food goes. its gonna take time to break old habits. sum it up, when i lived with mom i wasn't allowed to use the fridge or kitchen. so i bought food at work to munch on all the time. i bought self a microwave to heat up canned food. a lot of times i went to subway near house and had whole wheat subs loaded with veggies. its hard to break the habit of buying munchies at work. now that i live with boyfriend and his family they always have dinner and food in the house available to me. i think i want to use the weight watchers book that use to be grandmas. this way it can help me notice what i'm eating everyday and show me portions. i'm not about to buy all that weight watcher junk they sell. i want to eat regular food and just learn how much ect. it was too hard to use that book when i lived at moms. now that i live here it will be easier.
i know when i was in the 5th grade i went to camp for a week. they always had salads available. everyday i ate one and fruit. i lost a lot of weight. i know as you get older ur metabolism changes but i want to include those again in everyday diet. when ever i had the chance to since then i noticed i felt more alive. at least i haven't touched fast food in...i think its been about 2months now. i've been trying to stay clear of it as much as i can. i know that the whole food area is gonna be the biggest challenge for me. i always loved working out. thats never been a problem i love being that strong girl and get that jaw drop look from someone when they see me lift more than they can expect. lol. i get a giggle out of it. don't worry i ain't doin crazy things to blow out back. i seen dad do that when i was young and the surgeries he had to go though to be able to walk again was crazy. i'm not that stupid. lol.

Re: C-tina's work out blog!
well, i decided to learn to start disappointing myself. today i forced myself to do 6miles on the treadmill burning 1,000 calories because i didn't go on the treadmill yesterday. it was great! i never lasted that long b4 in life! it was great! i started with usual intensity for the first 45 min then lowed the speed and incline as time had passed. I did this so that i teach myself its better to just do 45min then almost 2hrs! I know as time passes i will be on the treadmill longer and burn more. goal is to try to increase it if not weekly bi-weekly. right now i burn 500calories a day on it. hopefully next week i would like to burn between 520-550 and so on. that way i keep it challenging. I hope this will help me stick to routine. it helps that i have so much support on this site and living in a better environment. im so happy i accomplished so much last year with weight loss. I hope to do better this year. goal is to make routines more intense but not so much to hurt myself or anything like that. also to learn better eating habits. like dinner tonite. bfs mom made eggs with wheat toast, it was so hard to not to the fridge and grab the mayo to cake onto the bread but...i did it. i stayed seated and ate the sandwich without the mayo. also this week i have been cutting down on buying munchies at work. i need to learn to get up earlier for when i work morning shifts so i start bringing a lunch to work. i really really really want to get down to 200 lbs by the end of these 12wks b4 assessment. i know when they had weighed me it showed 217. even if i get under 210 i will be happy. just have to keep up that motivation. 22nd bday is in march and i'm trying to reach a goal as a b.day gift to myself so i can have a girls day out. get a new outfit and hair done ect. i have only been buying clothes for work. the basics nothing just for myself for when i go out. so it would be a nice treat. i cant wait until friday. i hope to see half a pound or a pound gone by then. i think i will. i have a optimistic look at it and believe i will. i wont let it get me down if i don't, i'll just look at what i have been doin and see what can be changed. also today, for lunch...i only ate 2 pieces of pizza instead of usual 4 or 5! yes i said 5. I'm happy that i'm doin well...i just have to always remind myself...if u slip its ok just work harder and look at what ur workin for. i've come a long way already i'm not about to stop now.

That is good girl, but be careful not to do too much before your physically ready for it - and please don't forget to stretch those leg muscles thoroughly afterwards...very important in helping keep injuries away.rockchick_82808 wrote:today i forced myself to do 6miles on the treadmill burning 1,000 calories because i didn't go on the treadmill yesterday
I'm lovin' your positive attitude! That alone is going to help you stay on track.
yes, bringing lunch to work is a great way to insure that you control what you eat, and it keeps you from buying the munchies at work. I am really trying to plan total eating plan for the day, so that not only do I bring lunch to work, but also all snacks. I was doing well before the holidays, but got off track - so that is new goal (well, ONE of new goals!)rockchick_82808 wrote:i need to learn to get up earlier for when i work morning shifts so i start bringing a lunch to work. i really really really want to get down to 200 lbs by the end of these 12wks b4 assessment. i know when they had weighed me it showed 217
Anyway, I think 17 lbs. in 12 weeks is completely doable. Just stay focused on the prize, especially in a weak moment, or if you are out somewhere and feel tempted to eat something bad...just remember that feeling you want to have when you get that assessment and it shows the weight loss you are working so hard for.

I love that! That is a great motivator - I love girls day out with best buds - and I know you will look fantastic! It's always a good feeling when your friends see you - and comment on how much weight you've lost, or how great you are looking!rockchick_82808 wrote: 22nd bday is in march and i'm trying to reach a goal as a b.day gift to myself so i can have a girls day out. get a new outfit and hair done ect

don't remind me. lolfitoverforty wrote: Friday is a coming!!!!
i'm actually excited to see how i do. when u mentioned the stretching for the legs i was already ahead of ya. in the past i use to do walks to raise money for multiple sclerosis. i did 3miles and 6mile walks. it was fun. i haven't done it in a couple years bc no one goes in family any more and its not the same to do it by ur self. i always enjoyed walking. i grew up in a small town and i use to walk a mile to school and back everyday. i'm the type of person that parks far from the store just to walk more. bf is lazy sometimes and he asked me one day why i always park so far i told him...2b honest i never noticed. it didn't bother me.
i'm really pumped about these next 12wks. i can't wait to see the outcome. good grief...2days left till friday! that just dawned on me .lol
Re: C-tina's work out blog!
That is exactly how I started losing weight 2 yrs ago.Besides frequenting a nutritionist, If I wanted a coffee, id walk 3 miles to buy it, no bus, if I was upset or stressed about food or lack of junk, Id walk, by the time a year was out, I had managed to run, the same distance I first started to walk. Then I came here
