Hi, I've been working out for about 1-2years now and have made good progress, and I know the deadlift is a MUST in order to gain overall size and muscle mass, the only problem is when I perform it I find for the next couple of days it makes back and legs ache, so question is should I incorporate it into back workout or leg workout? at the moment I work back on a Monday and legs on a Wednesday, if I do deadlifts on the Monday I find that hamstrings still ache for leg workout on the Wednesday, but if I do deadlifts on the Wednesday is that too soon after Mondays back workout to work on the back again??
What is your overall goal from lifting? Mass, Strength, Definition?
Deads are part of routing but im doing whole body 3x/week and im about to switch to an upper lower split and deads are scheduled for leg days because it works your lower back and legs the most. You could try not working your lower back on back day, keep deads on your leg day, but throw in one more lower back exercise on your leg day as well so your not under working it.
I kinda have the same issue as you. But I do normal deadlifts for back days and stiff leg deadlifts for leg days. But I may be horribly wrong in doing this lol.
Thanks for all the tips guys, great help
The only other thing i was wondering is.. if i do deadlifts on the same days i work legs is it then ok to do squats aswell or will that be too much?
