No jokes about mum thanks, we all can safely imagine the most derisive wit possible within the confines of our own minds.
I'm going to get her some flowers. And I want to help her with a new exercise program.
mother is looking to get into shape and I've changed her diet to include many more fruits&vegies and suitable amounts of protein and carbs. She's also taking two multivitamins daily and a 50mg Co-Enzyme Q10 tablet daily. I'm going to get her to take fish oil as well. All as according to the directions on the packet.
Since she is just getting used to the idea of using weights, I was wondering what would be a good idea of exercises to start her off with. I have two adjustable dumbells I can take the weights off of to get her into the swing of things. They can go as low as 1.2 kg (no weights) or a symetrical 4.2 (2x 1.5kg weights). She's still pretty hesitant about this idea and can't run or jog really. She's now in her 60's and this is going to be a healthy habit I get her into so that she has some more enjoyment from her later years in life.
If anyone could give me some ideas of work outs for older ladies, then I'd really appreciate it.

i would have start on bodyweight exercises like this:
swissball wall squat alternating with supine bridge 2 x 20 each
push up alternting with db row 2 x 15 each
static lunge alternated with astep ups 2 x 20 each
this should do her for now...once she can do all sets for the reps prescribed we can make things a little harder and off we go
