I realized that i always had problems dieting because i didn't want to take food from home every day.
I finally went to McDonalds and looked at their menu items. Their Caesar Salad with grilled chicken (NOT CRISPY)(No extra dressing, etc.) and their salad is around 300-400 calories, and keeps you full for about 3-4 hours. I also realized that as long as you get things with wheat instead of white, and only a little special sauce (mayo, spicy mayo, etc.) and load things with vegetables, you will get a great taste, with much fewer calories. Also, you should only get small-medium size of everything. Also, you can get kid size portions (even at unhealthy places) and it will still most likely be under 500 calories.
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT:
Although you think salad is healthy, ask the waitress about calories before you order. I went to applebees the other day (not trying to dog on applebees, it's delicious and i love it.) and tried to order the Oriental Chicken salad. When i asked for the calories, it was 1,800 calories!!! So as many places offer nutrition facts, you should ask about calories in almost everything you eat. And if you don't have time, you can always check online ahead of time.
ALSO:
If you drink a tall glass of water before you eat, it will trick your mind into feeling more full and you will end up eating less.
Anyone else have any good On-The-Go eating tips?
Good luck to everyone trying to lose weight, i'm right here with you!

KFC Baked Beans.
McDonalds Hamburger. No Crud, just bread and Meat.
Small Tupperware box, pocket sized of course, then you can put things like Nuts and Peanuts in it, which shouldn't get affected by heat.
If you're concerned about Miould and Aflatoxins, buy western not eastern grown Peanuts, otherwise don't worry about it.
Walnuts are high in Good Fats, moreso than most Nuts, which do have goodly amounts, but things like Grapenuts, Cashews and Chestnuts are better for Carbs, but that adds more calories to the mix, than lower Carb ones like Hazels and Brazils for example, so go easy on portions, as Fats are 9 calories per gram, so if you're not careful, the calories can add up if you consume too many.
It should be noted that Nuts have Protein, but it's not a quality amount unless you have a whole cup, which then gives you 600-700 calories approx, that could be more close to 900+ if they're more Carb rich ones with a Glycemic rating.
Oh and I just wanted to say, it's great to see you are still dedicated to yourself and trying to look after yourself. I know it must have been hard to deal with the Cavernoma and it's effects especially at such a young age. Massive kudos to you for writing about it some time back and showing some strength and courage and beauty, to tell people about it as well and it's great to see you trying to support and encourage others here too.
You should be very, very proud of yourself and it's clear you're someone with a great heat and a lot to give to others. You cetainly look like someone, that could stop a young mans heart at 100 paces as well and I'm sure you are capable of sticking to your goals and further developing the beauty you obviously possess inside.
For someone of 17, you seem like a superb "young Lady" and I wish you a lot of luck and best wishes trying to achieve your goals.
Please stick around here won't you, we'd be very happy to have your support and encouragement and you will certainly be valued and appreciated by this community.
Chin up, best wishes, keep smiling and GOOD LUCK again.
I think you're a pretty amazing person and I'm proud to share this forum with people like you.
