The first thing you should do is prepare your body for the workout. Start with some kind of easy movement for a few minutes, such as walking on a treadmill or track. Then stretch. There's lots of stretching routines, but the one thing they all have in common is that you should relax into the stretch without forcing anything. Stretch your back, shoulders, chest, hamstrings, quads, and calves. When the tension gets to that point where it is starting to feel uncomfortable, hold it there for 10 to 15 seconds, then slowly come out of it.

Now that you're ready to go, then start the workout. If you're going to combine cardio and resistance training in the same workout, you should do the resistance training first, then finish with the cardio.

Good luck!

A 5 to 10 min warm up is all that is necessary before a session of weight or resistance training.
Static ( held ) stretches are done after the resistance training is complete OR after completion of sets for a muscle group, for 10 seconds, to recover muscle length. Then again after session is complete. When you stop to stretch after your warm up, you defeat the purpose of the warm up, heart rate drops, muscles cool off etc.

I've been doing weights first then cardio. And I find that I have more energy to get through cardio. I used to do cardio before weights and I was always so wiped out from the cardio that I felt like I had no energy to lift the weights. Now, I use the weights, after a light warm-up, first when I have the most energy. I give myself a little break before starting cardio, and have been noticing that I get really energized and ready to go within 5-10 minutes after doing weights.

Yes cardio may fatigue your muscle depending on the intensity, if you do it before weights. Most people who do combined cardio & weights do it afterwards.I personally do mine on different days so don't have any personal insight into it :)

The first step: not eat more fat
To lose fat you should eat right, To lose weight and get a healthy body.
To lose weight you should eat low protein, low carb, no fat and drink more water.
in breakfast eat average, in lunch eat less and in dinner eat less less or try to not eat.
Good luck.
Thank you,

Not sound advise I'm afraid. Sincerely no offence intended, but low Carb, no Fat? Fat helps to remove Cholesterol for one, if it's things like Omega 3 and 6, plus it can help to get rid of bad fat. Good protein, equals more muscle building potential, which means better Fat loss potential, as an extra lb of muscle burns an extra 45-50 calories per day.

What you're suggesting sounds very restrictive calories wise, which wuld casue a "starvation mode", leading to Fat retention not loss.

What you're advocating looks like a pro bodybuilder comp diet, except the low protein thing wouldn't tally.

I know this is contrary to what I have been taught, but I 'enjoy' cardio first. I guess what I mean to say is that when I lift weights, I lift to exhastion to get stronger. I am so wiped from weights, that even thinking of cardio, a ton of excuses to pop into head about how I can get to it later. If I do 20 minutes of cardio (intervals) then I feel refreshed enough to do weights. I can do cardio hours after weights but not in the same session.

So I think that it may be better for body to do cardio after, I like doing it first because otherwise, I just won't do it.

This is a great way to workout. Lifting is anaerobic is it will usually only tire out the part of the body that is being worked. Cardio is aerobic so it tires out the whole body. You are definitely doing the right thing lifting first. The challenge is gonna come when it's leg day and your legs are too tired to get on that treadmill lol.
Cheers :D

You go, then!! You have to use what works. I'm proud of you for making sure and finding a way that you can do both! You have to work with yourself and do what you know you will do. At least, you're doing both. There is also a principle known as the principle of individual differences. Not to say that it applies here, but in some ways it possibly could.

Besides, for those who are into building muscle, I recommend getting a healthy meal as soon as possible after tearing it up... But, everyone's goals are different.

I am new to this website but am also having trouble getting past the no weight loss vs. exercising. I currently met with a physical trainer, more like an advisor, he told me that I should warmup with cardio, treadmill for 30 minutes, then work upper and lower muscle varying everyday, ending ending with a cool down of 30 minutes of cardio i.e., cycling. The workout isnt very strenuous but I am currently @ 30lbs on the machines. question is, what do I do to get the weight off? I have gained 3 lbs in a week..Im very frustrated

Well you can ditch some of that cardio for starters, a warm up consists of 5 to 10 mins of 40 - 50 % of max HR.I recommend full body workouts which entails an exercise for chest, shoulders, legs, back ( upper & lower ) & abs..3 x per week. When you do cardio, you can either do more intense cardio for 20 mins or slower cardio for 30 - 45 minutes.Slow cardio will burn more fat, while you are ON the machine, shortly after you step off that machine, it stops. The intense cardio will speed the metabolism up, burning fat for 24 hrs, following a session. As for direct weight loss, you would need to post what your eating looks like for a day, with times & portion sizes included, thanks.
