Thanks Rebekah! Yes, the water was cold, but not freezing - didn't need a wet suit. I would like to do another triathlon - but maybe one with a pool swim instead of open water. I really struggle with open water swims. But running is first love - so it will always come first.musculargirl wrote:Congratulations! Was the water cold? Did you wear a wet suit or didn't you need to in that Texas heat? I think you should do another one.If you had to choose Lynne would it be a 5k or run of some kind, or a triathlon?
So technically I'm sure you and Lu are leaner than I am even tho I weigh less. It's all good. Trying to "race" to 160 is just another way to help to motivate myself into working hard. I have such a long way to go, further than you or Lu considering weight to height ratio, and it is so hard to lose lbs. - so it helps me to have a "goal" to push for.amatlack wrote:and I'd just like to say that you're 5'4". Lu's 5'7", and I'm 5'8" (they tried to say 5'9" at the last dr I went to, but I was wearing shoes, so whatever)...so...just throwing that into the weight factor
And I could not make it through even one round of your Cross fit stuff.amatlack wrote:I could not go out and do a tri tomorrow...that's for sure.
Yes, I agree, I think that is an awesome thing - and one of the best things I love about this site. We all rock, in our own unique ways.amatlack wrote:I think we all have our strengths.
Being shorter doesn't make it easier to lose weight. It just means that you are in different areas of your weight loss goals. Maybe it wasn't intended that way, but it seemed a little like a slap in the face.amatlack wrote:Okay, I was just checking for curiosity's sake, and I'd just like to say that you're 5'4". No worries!amatlack wrote:And again, seriously, I apologize if anything I wrote came out the wrong way or was insulting

Thanks Edgar!EdgarHF wrote:fantastic work on the tri. I want one of those medals
Thanks!! I like for exercise to be fun and inspiring. I don't like it be "work" or mechnical, repetitive workouts. I have found that I like a goal or something to reach for (other than the obvious weight loss and being fit). Doing a triathlon was so different from a running event, It allowed me to train hard, but in different areas doing different things - so it was never boring. And it really was a full body workout. I want gym weight workouts to compliment the race training, so that it all works together.musculargirl wrote:i came to your thread and you have all your pics up and it is so motivational and fun to see and i had such a change of emotion.
