Anyone using this? Having first meal right now...
Re: Bistro md. Anyone using?
Hi there
.
Some honest feedback for you, because I think you are worth it
.
That system looks a bit pricey to me. Then again, I'm not American, so I can't be sure if that cost per week is reasonable or a bit costly, but I suspect it might be a little costly.
Also this concerns me.
If that does indeed include snacks, the caloric total for me is too low. Sedentary females need 1,800 calories a day, so this plan, especially with 1,100 calories a day, may not be providing enough micronutrient content for your wellness needs.
I certainly wouldn't reccommend that many calories per day, to somone who exercises.
Also I tried to click on the links that say "more information", regarding the meal options and they wouldn't access. Might be a browser issue, but I just got redirected to the page I was on and therefore could ascertain nothing about the meals.
Also I noticed this.

That picture has been used elsewhere on the net. I'm 99.99% certain I've seen it before, but the quote on the side, may make it appear as if the person pictured, is the person making the quote, which might not be the case.
All in all, I think it has merits, but also detractions. However I've seen worse diet plans before now, like the Maple Syrup diet for starters, (that's just plain disgusting), so I won't outright condemn or criticise this as hokey or a scam, as that's not what I think, but I do have a few reservations as I'm sure you'll understand.
If you think it will work for you, then I don't see enough downsides to try and persuade you to reconsider, though I do see a few concerns, but however I genuinely wish you well with it, should you wish to continue
.
if you need any help regarding any other general things, then the forum will be here for you, or if you just need someone to talk to regarding sensitive issues, then please do PM me, as moderators can be there for people on a one to one basis, for emotional concerns too

If that 1,400 a day total just refers to the main meals, then the wording "with snacks", doesn't tell you how many calories in the snacks when they are factored in.How many calories are in BistroMD meals, and what is the nutritional breakdown?
Our dietitians design each day in your meal to fluctuate between 1100-1400 calories per day for our seven day plans with snacks. About 40-45% of these calories are from protein, 30-35% come from carbohydrates and 20-25% come from fat.

Re: Bistro md. Anyone using?
I have been using Bistro.MD foods since March. I found a coupon online for the first week, which allowed me to try it out at 50% off. Once I realized that the food is high quality and with great variety, I decided to pay for the 7 day with snacks plan. We live about 15 miles from the grocery store, children are in their 20's and living with us, and I was spending huge amounts of time shopping, cooking, cleaning, etc. Once I started the BistroMD program, family accepted that they would be doing all of those things. It is such a pleasure to know that I don't have to make any food decisions. I can just EAT. Sometimes I have to remind myself to get the snacks, because I'm rarely hungry.
BistroMD is very good about customizing the program. You can tell them if you don't like certain meals ,and whether you prefer certain ones. The snacks are good too, for the most part. I'm sure everyone has their favorites. For me it has been great to know that I can eat 100% of the food and not worry whether I am making the correct choices or not.
I had to go to take care of mother, who was ill, in Vermont for 3 weeks and BistroMD shipped food there too. Now I have discontinued the breakfasts. A friend of mine who was on the program with me decided to discontinue the lunches. No problem. The dieticians worked with him to figure out what he could and should be eating instead of the meals.
I was losing weight steadily until the stess and lack of sleep during mother's illness affected me. I'm actually still getting back to normal from that. I have probably lost 12 lbs on the scale, but have trimmed down so that clothing fits much better and I do feel better. I realize that I should be exercising/moving more to encourage the weight loss, but the circumstances have made it difficult.
The meals themselves are better if you defrost them overnight in the refrigerator. OR I microwave them for 3 minutes, let them stand and then finish heating them. You do have to use good judgement with some of the meals, as they can get overcooked if you just nuke them for 5 minutes without thinking.
The hardest part about this plan for me has been evenings. Sometimes I try to save afternoon snack to eat in the evening. The other tough part is that I don't like frozen vegetables as well as fresh ones....but I can always have some fresh vegetables if I want them.
This plan is very convenient and easy to follow. The foods are high quality and there is a lot of variety in the flavors and textures. The cash outlay seems high until you realize the time and cost of shopping and preparing comparable meals yourself. It isn't fair to judge the cost of the food without subtracting the hidden costs of preparation. I would also recommend these meals for seniors or anyone who lives alone.

Mimi, I am sorry to read that your Mother has not been in good health in recent months. I hope that she is better now, but if not I wish you and her a lot of luck and best wishes for the future.
I can tell by your post you are a Lady of supreme character and of very, very good heart and deed and I know only too well from first hand exposure, how illness can cause unnecessary and unjustifed debilitation to elderly relatives, so I wish you and your family all the best for the future and hope that life will bring you a lot of ups to repay you for the downs.
Good luck and best wishes.

Re: Bistro md. Anyone using?
I've been on the BistroMD meal plan for 1 month now & am excited to report I've lost 10 pounds!! Its the easiest & healthiest "diet" I've ever had the pleasure of being on. Like you, I was skeptical. So many years of dieting, (mostly starvation diets) I felt BistroMD offered too much food as well as 2 snacks a day! The truth is the meals are well proportioned with lean meats and lots of veggies. I don't feel hungry or deprived at all and the 2 snacks a day help ward of any cravings as well as helps me sustain energy through the day. If there's something on the menu I don't like, BistroMD's Dietitians & Customer Service have been very friendly & helpful to accommodate requests & needs.
I've not only lost 10 pounds in 4 weeks but I don't feel sluggish, drained or hungry! skepticism has been squashed! BistroMD is definitely a winner & I recommend it to anyone & everyone looking to live a healthier lifestyle as well as shed pounds. I'm on way to a healthier, happier & sexier me! Who knows, maybe BistroMD will be updating that testimonial picture with mine!

You mean updating it with a genuine one, not one half inched from another site, or some kind of picture repository.
I can't prove I've seen the female with the towel elsewhere, but I'm darned sure I have
Great job on the weightloss too
. Be proud of yourself, because 10lbs in 4 weeks is good steady weight loss, not crash dieting

If you are overweight, or if you will still be a wholesome heaviness one time you misplace 10-15 pounds, then you should misplace this heaviness and hold it off, for the sake of your health. Fast heaviness decrease is not wholesome because as well as fat you will misplace muscle. It is furthermore not appealing as it devotes a 'skinny fat' gaze (which might be significant to you if you are modelling)
