Morning weigh in:

162.8!!! :D :D

Finally broke that 164 plateau! whew! I was beginning to think that it would never budge. Gotta keep working hard tho', no letting up now - 160 you are going down!!!!

Today's workout:

1 mile w/u run
2 mile elliptical tempo pace

1x5 DB deadlift - two 20lb DBs (wasn't sure form was correct - felt a bit of pain in lower back, so I stopped) need to research proper form more
2x12x2 bent row 20lb DB
2x12 military press 15lb DBs
2 x 15 decline ab crunch

Hope everyone has a safe and happy weekend!

Will you be able to get them back out again though?

You really don't want to have your feet wedged into the beach when the tide comes back, or you'll look like some low budget monument, or art installation, to commemorate something unfathomable.

"hey look at that art installation, why's that there?"

"I dunno, but it's creeping me out, let's leave quickly"

Today's workout:

45 min. elliptical "run"

1 x 12 x 2 Bent Row w/15lb DB
1 x 12 x 2 Bent Row w/20lb DB
2 x 12 x 2 Preacher Curl w/15lb DB
2 x 12 Bench press w/15 lb DB's
2 x 12 Military press w/15lb DB's

legs were a bit tired from the 6 miler yesterday and the elliptical workout so I'll do squats and lunges another day. :D

I've revamped this for you.

The Chest stuff goes first, so you're not doing Back work first, as fatuiging it may hinder the Chest work, as the Back helps to stabilise and support the Chest work.

The Preachers go last, as big muscles are better before small ones. Row work uses Biceps anyway, so doing Preachers afterwards will fatigue the Biceps a bit, but without having any potential to affect the Rows, like they could if done before.

Make sense?

Yes, thank you so much Bossman. :D
I still feel lost in the weight room.
What are the top five weight exercises to do for burning fat and working the most muscles? I know deadlifts are one of them.

Today's workout:

Elliptical HIIT:
8 min. w/u
6 sets of 1 min. slow, 1 min. fast
5 min. cooldown

3 x 8 Captain's chair straight leg raises

Thanks! I'm hoping to break 160 or at least reach 160 this weekend. But any loss will be great at this point!
Going to see the inlaws soon...

What could I replace the chins with? arm is still not able to handle any pulling of weight. I can lift weights, but any cable or resistance (pulling) motions cause pain in the elbow area. I can't do pullups, chin ups, bicep curls (although preacher curls don't affect it) lat pulldowns.

Today's workout:

3.5 mile early a.m. run. Nice morning for it - cool 75 degrees. :D

Try doing Military Presses instead of Chins and see if that helps at all.
