Maybe you could have worn one of those hats with the drinks dispensers on to keep cool, or alternatively, one of those hats with a little fan on the peak, to blow cool air into your physog .

I actually have one of those camel paks that you wear on your back with the long tube & straw to drink from whilst you are running or riding.

Todays workout:

3 mile treadmill run
Last mile was 200 meter pickups at 7 mph, then slow to 5 mph for 200 meters, then back to 7 mph. 8 repeats (4 fast, 4 slow).

Yesterday when I got home from work (5:30 p.m. - ish) back porch thermometer said 112 degrees (and it's in the shade). treadmill is looking pretty good these days.

Morning workout:

2.2 miles elliptical - race tempo

2 x 12 x 20lbs DB military press

2 x 12 x 20lbs DB bent row

2 x 12 x 20lbs squats (arms at side) feels very much like a deadlift as I push up through heels and straighten back

1 x 12 x 12lb DB preacher curl
1 x 12 x 15lb DB preacher curl

2 x 12 x 20lb DB Arnold press - 1st time for these, they are definitely harder, could barely finish second set.

2 x 25 decline ab crunch

I think almost everyone has a hard time staying motivated all the time. A little think called life can get in the way. Not to mention i think breaks are good here and there anyways. Hang in there. :)

Just remember how far you have come! I think we all go through those times where we struggle to keep the motivation. It really is worth it. Sometimes just getting yourself back to the gym even when your motivation is down is enough to snap you out of it! You have been doing awesome, keep it up :D

Exactly. You've come a long way and have much to be proud of.

You are without doubt a wonderful Lady. Be proud of everything that you are and don't worry about what has gone on recently, as that's gone now and what you do in the future is still yours to dictate, so shin up, keep smiling and no worries okay :).

You are really and truly doing a superb job of how you are living right now and I am proud of you, so I hope you are too.

You deserve to be :).

Maybe she's been trying a new type of South Beach diet, where you literally just eat Beach :P.

Frankly I don't think there's many calories in Sand, but then that would probably be the idea.

ha ha...you know me well. spent a few days at the beach. Ran 4 miles on two occasions, partly on the road and partly on the beach. It was really hot, but the ocean breeze made it bearable.
Back to the grind.... :D

 yeah, the sand can definitely slow ya down, thankfully most of run was on hard packed sand. But a few times I got off in some deep sand and lower legs were really sore after wards.

I've been a bit MIA on posting workouts...still working hard but have been struggling mentally with it all. It's hard to stay upbeat and positive all the time and I have been in a mental slump.
Weight is still not under 160, but still hanging in there.

Todays workout:

35 min. elliptical - fast pace whole time
DB weight workout

they are remodeling the ladies weight room  so...I had to choose between doing the open floor cable machines OR go into the man cave weight room to use free weights. So after walking around the open floor, perusing all of the different cable pulley cross train machines & felt overwhelmed immediately - how to they expect you to figure out how to operate those contraptions anyway? So....I went to the door of the mens weight room, peeked inside, only saw 1 guy...so I crept in and walked to the back where the free weights were....OMG! i was in DB heaven!!! Such a selection! I could finally use a DB heavier than 20lbs. (that's as high as they go in the ladies weight room :? )
I did Bent rows, squats with 20lb DBs then got brave and tried a 35lb. DB to do Deadlifts - felt too easy so next set tried the 40lb DB - it was awesome! The hardest part was lifting the dang thing from the rack!!
Maybe next time I'll have the courage to ask for help in doing some BB work. (notice I said "next time" )

Walked out of there feeling fierce! And I didn't grow any chest hair like i was afraid of....(I checked)
