Peanut butter
Soo i eat very healthy well try to and eat around 1200 calories a day. I was told that eating natural peanut butter would help burn fat and so i started eating it with celery and didnt have a problem with it, it wasnt making me lose weight or gain weight well then the next thing i know not to say to much info but it was that time of the month and i starting craving peanut butter and went through 2 jars in about a week. whoa that was wayy to much because i have only gained 3 lbs but stomach is hard and looks like i have gained about 15 lbs. Im soo bloated and is soo hard and i always feel soo full from it. Its been about 3 days sense i have had any peanut butter but i look and feel soo full and fat. Has anyone ever done this or know what happened? I have been doing an hour of cardio a day but its not getting rid of it. I have been eating alot of fiber and drinking alot of water but its not helping. I dont know what to do because like i said i only gained 3 lbs but stomach is soo hard and i look and feel soo fat and bloated. I need help!!
Re: Peanut butter
Number one, stop eating the Peanut Butter
. You must eliminate the route cause, to prevent counterproductive behaviour towards the outcome solution.
Your other problem is you're not eating enough.
Your body could go into something called "starvation mode", where it thinks it's being starved and holds onto Fat. 1,200 a day, is only 2/3 or the ideal sedentary intake required for females, (1,800 calories a day).
The bloat may also be connected to excessive Salt intake, if the Peanut Butter was perhaps had a high sodium content. Excessive Salt intake can cause water retention, elevate Blood Pressure and cause Edema, (excess fluid in the legs).
If you're eating 6 times a day, I'd increase another 100 calories per meal into each meal.
This could be done in a fairly balanced way, so you'd add another 10g Protein, 10g Carbs and around 2g Fat, which is 98 calories per meal, which shouldn't be too hard and you don't have to be precise as long as you're in the ballpark.
Be aware there might potentially be a slight elevation in weight if the body thinks some of the calories are excess and converts them to Fat, as it will be very used to 1,200 a day by now I suspect, but whether that happens or not, as stated 1,800 is a sedentary female average and not in any way excessive, unless youre under the age of about 14, so the body would adjust and once working in a better metabolic environment, it should hopefully cause a reversal of what you have had happening to you, thereby resolving your weight issue with any luck.
Hopefully that makes sense

Just remember you can always have too much of a good thing...even if it is a good thing. I mean even too much water can kill you!

Re: Peanut butter
Could someone explain to me why peanut butter is so frequently used and eaten in American weight loss diets. I've looked at so many diets and recipes, and so many of them include peanut butter? I know that peanut butter and jelly is a popular sandwich filling in the States, but i was under the impression that peanut butter was fattening and shouldn't be included in a healthy diet.

Re: Peanut butter
Try PB2...it's basically powdered peanuts. They press the oil out so that you have wayyy less fat. Mix up 2tbsp with water and you have PB that's 45 calories and 1.5g of fat vs Jif PB which has 190 calories in 2tbsp and 16g of fat. HUGE difference. Also, "regular" PB has a good bit of sodium in it which makes you bloat.
I'll admit, it's not as sweet as normal PB, but I usually just mix in a little bit of honey. It has a very nice consistency, and tastes really good. I use it in place of PB because I was like you...a PB addict :p Well, I still am, but I use PB2 instead. Just google it or go to bellplantation.com

Thank you for sharing that igneousisbliss! I am addicted to peanut butter as well, and have a hard time limiting myself to the 2 tbsps a day! I will have to try that! I know you gave the link to it, but do you know is it available in grocery stores or health stores as well?
