Restarting after a long time

Post by TheOrestes »

Hi Folks,

I have been doing exercise for more than 4 years, but recently due to hectic work schedule i have been out of touch almost 8-10 months! But the good news is am planning to restart exercise routine. I still have a month before I can start going to gym, but before that, are there any exercises which you people know of which I can do in this one month at home to best prepare body?

In Past, same thing has happened where after restarting i have faced fatigue etc, so this time am being extra cautious with the approach :)

I have already started jogging 10-15 days back, anything else to it? Any specific routine for this one month?

Thanks in advance,
Rupesh.

There are tons of bodyweight excercises that you can do such as squats, lunges, pushups, planks, situps etc. If you have a few bucks you can invest in a pair of hand weight and that would open you up to an array of excercises . I used to do an awesome circuit I found on here. Its a series of excercises set in a circuit. 30 minutes is all it takes but it kicks ur butt!! Its based on intrerval training. I have not been able to work out at a gym due to religious beliefs. I have dripped more sweat on the floor of living room then I ever have in the gym when I was younger.

Do the basics. Running for cardio. Then, pushups, situps, etc. Those basic exercises at home could help you prepare for that one. Best of luck.

Yup, both this people have it right. Don't forget to get 7-8 hours of sleep minimum, have a good post workout meal and make sure your diet is balanced and healthy. If you feel over whelmed don't be afraid to step back a day. Live to fight another day.
