workout routine

Post by mopurvis »

Hello I need help making a workout routine. I am 5'10 and weigh 130 pounds and 17 years old and am about to be 18 in 3 months. I am very skinny and can use muscle in every area. I go off to college in about a month and wanted to get a head start on getting in shape. I need help getting started. I am trying to gain at least 15 pounds. Any advice?

Personally I use the workout routines on the website(http://www.shapefit.com/workout-routines.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). Instead of 3 sets I use 4, and instead of 8-12 reps I do as much as I can. 2muscles a day, every other day all FITTED in a week so some workout days are back to back to eachother. Been working good for me so far.

Make sure you eat healthy; need to consume around 260g of proteion a day for your weigth which is easily achievable and you need carbs.

The only supplements I use are a beverly international NO booster, one of their weight loss supplement(got a little bit of fat on me), and their protein shakes.

Not wishing to sound rude or criticial, but Nitric Oxide is not a Fat loss product in estimation, or if it contributes to it, it's a knock on effect at best, not a primary effect. It's more a Vasodilator, which expands blood vessels, to increase bloodflow to muscles and cells. One benefit of this is when you breakdown Glycogen and Glucose during Glycolysis, the more Oxygen the Pyruvate end product is exposed to, the more can be used for beneficial purposes, as Pyruvate minus Oxygen causes Ethanol Alcohol and Lactic Acid production.

As for the 260 grams of protein figure, an individual only needs 1.2g per lb, 1.5g max.

Telling him to effectively eat 2g per lb, could increase his risk of Gout from the Nitrogen to Uric Acid conversion and increase his risk of Kidney stones.

Again not being rude or criticial, just saying :).

I'd also like to add that getting that much protein in your diet isn't really easy at all, takes some effort.

As bossman said, Nitric Oxide isn't really a fatloss supplement. It's a vasodilator and is generally used pre-workout for increased 'pump'.

Some NO supplements have their uses. For example i found both NO Xplode and gaspari superpump 250 both extremely helpful for energy levels int he gym while cutting.

NO-Explode is a hit and miss product, I've heard of people using it that found it pretty mediocre.

Plus it contains Caffeine, a counterproductive ingredient when compared to the NO content, as it does the opposite to what NO does. Plus it's pretty expensive from memory, but like most Muscletech products in history, either expensive, poorly performing or both.

I agree with you that it's hit and miss. It worked very well for me, but it didn't effect many of friends at all.
If you shop around you can get it pretty inexpensively.

BTW, No Xplode is made by BSN, not Muscletech. Muscletech's version is Nanovapour.

You're right on that, now you mention it. I was thinking of Celltech I think.

However I don't think I was wrong about Muscletech's history, where the usual price and quality of product are concerned
