Post by xogabszbabyy »

Ok, so I am new to all of this and I need a workout routine that will give me results. I remember i would workout for hours and weeks would go pass and I would see no results, so I am reaching out for help :D
I am 160 pounds trying reach 130-135. I am curvy, I mean, I have a small top and huge thighs and butt to make it up. I really want to tone thighs, and stomach and arms. I dont want to loose drastic weight just about 25-30 pounds. Can someone please help me ? I am enrolled to planet fitness, if that helps.

Hey Id love to help... if you want to just let me know what you have been doing I can help you out more but here are a few tips off the top of head. First figure out your target goal weight... which you have... then choose a goal DATE. Then figure out how many LBs you have to lose per week to reach this goal date... you need to break down your goals into smaller goals so you praise yourself through this journey to new a lifestyle. Think of this as a NEW lifestyle NOT a diet or just a short term thing you are doing to slim down... think you are doing this to HELP YOU, to be healthier, to have more energy, to be more positive, to have a better self confidence, to feel more comfortable, etc et cetc the list goes on and on not to mention you will be adding years onto your life.

Here are some tips

* Find a workout you LOVE (I thought I just wasn't a fitness type when I was hitting the gym all the time and not seeing results but then I found soul mate workout program and now I consider myself a fitness nut LOL)
* Drink water (8-10 glasses per day this is SOOO important for so many reason)
* Eat every 2.5-3 hours smaller meals... this keeps your metabolism moving all day. Dont let yourself get STARVED if you start feeling really really hungry your body goes into starvation mode and starts storing food as fat.
* Think of food as FUEL for your workouts and your daily activities
* THINK BE AND LIVE Positivity : don't expect over night success you will get there its all about being consistent and doing the same things over and over tell yourself over and over YOU WILL REACH YOUR WEIGHT LOSS GOALS
* Try a meal replacement shake and replace breakfast, lunch or dinner
* Do Cardio 5-7 days per week
* Do strength training 3x per week leaving 1 day per week in between to rest and recover
* Get enough sleep (7-8 hours if possible)
* Read a self help book ( jillian michael's books are really good master your metabolism)

I hope this helps and I really look forward to hearing from you :) Even if you dont have any questions contact me and let me know how your results are coming along and tell me WHEN you reach your goal weight on your goal date because if you do the things above i KNOW you will do it!

Mindy help people who come to YOUR site, don't poach off of ours.Do NOT replace meals with shakes, they only replace the protein portion, this leaves the whole grains & vegetables unaccounted for.A weight loss of 1-2 lbs per week is a safe weight loss. Resistance training 3 x per week..cardiovascular training 3 x per week..maximum of 5 x per week.

Oopsie yes the healthy fats..sorry les ;) Yes I think bread is okay, as long as its whole grain, I recommend twenty loaf by healthy way, it is the lowest carbohydrate bread I've found thus far.

You'll probably get more problems drinking what's in that glass, than you ever will off Bread.

Bread is only a major issue, if it's got Wheat or Gluten in it, as unless it's the Gluten free kind, it's contraindicated in people with Coeliacs Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, because those conditions cause intolerance to such things, though there is no proven link to Crohns, it's advised against in such instances.

You can either limit Bread, or perhaps go for something like Whole-grain.

Try Ezekiel 4:9 bread... It's a flourless bread high in protein and amino acids. It consists of four whole grains and beans. :)

Oh and don't forget to eat your complex carbs earlier in the day and your fibrous carbs all day. This will help you with any worries about not burning them off. As the eariler you consume them, the more time you have to burn them off. If you need more carbs, then another good time is to eat them immediately after a workout- especially weight training, as your muscles need them and will use them right up. Happy healthy eating! 8)

Cardio can be done in so many ways.
I myself can't run for 6 miles straight, or go on the eliptical for hours on end. It's just too boring for me.
Instead, i'll run 1 mile, (which takes about 10 min out of your day and helps your muscles to burn fat), and i joined a cardio kickboxing class that deals with toning and cardio (killing two birds with one stone.) and do that 4x a week. Then i also bought the Zumba Dance DVD set for when i don't want to go anywhere or i don't want to do leave the house. Both Kickboxing and Zumba burn about 1000 calories an hour and are the most fun, satisfying workouts. Also, if you don't have much time, you can buy a jumprope and a toning band. and if you Jumprope for about 10 minutes and work with a toning pilates band for 10 minutes, you will be able to squeeze a workout into your busy schedule. i am finally on the weight loss train. I'm 5'7 160 lbs and want to be 135 lbs, as i was about 2 years ago. So i'm planning on reaching a weight that i like by January. I'd love to be support for you, because i know i need support as well. You just need to take whatever downtime you have and squeeze in workouts that you like. Also, if you have an Ipod, it really takes your mind off of the actual workout.

Read beyond the " calorie " number, to the sugar, carbohydrate, WHOLE GRAIN not whole wheat content.
