Hi,
Im new to the site and just wanted to drop in and say hi, talk about myself a little, ask some questions etc etc
Firstly, how many active members are still here? As flicking through profiles Im noticing alot are a few years old and never updated again. I really want some support, as I have recently moved to a new town in a new state and I have only just started work so dont realy know anyone enough to go 'Come exercise with me!'
hubby and I are both trying to get fit. We were very active before we got married, but he was a victim of violence and was in hospital for awhile, and I was working a few jobs, and after that recovery and being married meant some contentment and we move towns twice- before we really thought about it we had completely stopped our active lifestyles. It seemed to happen so fast!
I had also sustained injuries to wrist and knee (both on the left) which at first I was glad to put feet up and rest, only I got so used to resting it got out of control.
I did lose weight last year but gained it again as i didnt really put heart into it.
This year we both want to take control again. I do miss the feeling of being fit and being able to run around the country for several km and still feeling good inside no matter how dead body felt. I want to compete in marathons and triathlons with hubby, as I had only done this when I was single.
I also would like to reach a new goal of a 6 pack =) I dont want to be an iron woman but just achieve something noticeable in the area! Even when I extremely fit I was never really ripped and family has this history of little pot bellies!
So thats a bit of rambling from me.....
Id love to get to know more people are recieve some encourage ment. We had a trial day at the gym here and it took ages for me to relax because I felt so self conscious- mostly because I knew how puffed I was and I had hardly started. That was embarassing- knowing what I have acheived in the past and staring at the timer going.. 10 min??? thats it???? Very hard to take. But i have to start somewhere! Better now than never =)

Hi I'm Karrie, and congratulations on your new goal! It's so exciting reading about other people's lives and motivation to be stronger and healthier, and I enjoyed reading about yours.
I just committed to being here and logging food and exercise this past month and have found it makes a big difference. Everyone here has been really supportive and kind. two "special areas" are probably swimming and Muay Thai, and I know a lot about 'Eating Clean' for someone who doesn't really do it!

Thanks!! Id love to hear some advice on eating clean.
I went vegetarian for a while last year and started to gradually go Raw but wasnt educated enough and was very busy. Since moving states etc everything has gone up in the air and adjusting to new living with hubbys family right next door- they eat alot of pasta and meats which Im not into
Im finding it hard to politley eat own food!
Im on day two and im realising how logging food can make you realise what you are eating- ive never logged food before. Im in panic mode Im eating so badly! But i have goals =)

Oh no! I phrased that strangely - I've been a member since last July, but I started log on January 2nd of this year and have only really been active on a daily basis since then. Actually this is the first time I have committed to keeping a food and exercise diary for more than 2 weeks in entire life, so it feels like the beginning to me : )Lesplease wrote:Karrie, have you really only been here a month??

'Eating clean' is one of the easier things to do alongside other family members who aren't, because it's pretty simple. Check out the website if you're interested in the idea, and let me know what you think. I subscribe to the magazine so I usually have an ear to the ground for new recipes and things like that. Clean eating also makes it a lot easier to eat large quantities of food that are both nutritious and low in calories, which is really important to me when I'm working hard! You can also practice clean eating as a vegetarian, carnivore, or omnivore, so it's all good. Well I guess honestly I know what I should be doing and doing the wrong thing anyway- I know this sounds like the same old response of the 'lazy ones' - but its just this week. =/
I just moved state and am living in a caravan with mu hubby. I snagged a casual job at a cafe but they are so understaffed I have been doing 50 hour shifts at all sorts of times (when i started I asked for 4 days and set hours) and it leaves me so exhausted and in front of the crappest food that I honestly think fitness can get screwed because im so tired. But Ive canned this job as of tommorrow (its a public holiday here tomorrow and no one wanted to work so i got the FULL DAY shift) but on thursday i start new job- better pay, set hours etc.
Also new job screwed up pay so Ive been waiting and waiting now (three week) to actually be paid so I can join the gym. The day pass was too expensive to do for a months worth of visits, but I can afford the full amount as yet. Im hoping this week, next week at the latest i can get gym membership. I know on thursday I will finally be working good hours which will give me enough time morning and afternoon to get some fitness in, plus Being in the office I can pre plan meals instead of desperately grabbing the pie from the hot box =/
Im just looking forward to some normality and a routine so then I can get organised, I absolutely hate this changing schedule ive had for the last month! I have managed to lost 4 kilos though.
Well I think the pot is genetic, dad has it, sister has it, Even when i was competeing in triathlons, abs were really tones but I still had this little bulge over lower abs, was really small, doesnt count too much haha I it was there, little brother and sister (might show a pic one day) are absolute matchstick in frame- very skinny children- and they both have little pot bellies too. Its kinda cute on them lol.
Ok so really to answer you- Im currently on no schedule as every day work schedule changes and I dont know when im home. I will feel comfortable sharing food log next week haha Ive already planned it and quite excited. Well it starts thursday... I want to join gym, at home I have access to the whole Australia dessert to go bush running in with dog =) and all the other home based things like push ups etc.

I know I spout this *way* too much, but bodyrock.tv has a ton of plyometrics and interval training strength routines that are great for using those muscles and getting the heart rate up (at the SAME TIME! Workouts take 20 minutes, yes!) The reason I mention this is because since I moved and left gym I had to get creative. That site really helped me out a lot, and I found I was able to make good improvements and gains, even at home and without beloved gym equpment.

Oh man, I know what that's like. HAHAHAH oh long story- We were told husky x lab x bull terrier. We saw the mother and she was huskyx lab and he was an adorable little grey and tan thing...

He is baby. When we got him we both looking for a good active dog. And he is everything we ever wanted. He always comes when called and we can easily take him walking town or bush without a lead on and he stays within a few metres of us. =) I lie- kangaroos are his weakness..........
