Pregnant Workouts

Post by newmommy1516 »

I am 6 months pregnant. Before I became pregnant I was working hard at losing weight then I kinda became discouraged when I found out I was pregnant. Now that I am nearing the end of pregnancy I realize that I should have stayed in shape the whole time I was pregnant. Are there any exercises I can do to get me ready for getting in shape after I have baby?

Hey Newmommy, I had a friend that was pregnant and she worked out almost the whole way to her due date! Her leading the way on the treadmill! Always ask your DR. but once you have the baby and everything heels, get back to weights and cardio.

There is a chick in gym, there every morning, big as a house now, wise. Makes me happy to see her there, because it means the next generation already has a head start ! Newmommy yes, perhaps you should of kept going. Though even now you could do the treadmill with some walking etc..one instructor told me pregnant persons shouldn't start anything NEW weights wise in regards to workouts & another one told me that is BS. That a pregnant person can indeed start a training program. There are issues however with lying FLAT on your back, the baby will compress the blood supply, so keep one side elevated slightly. ( wedge your shoe or rolled up towel under )Though of course check with your doctor before starting anything.

Hey there Mommy :).

Weight training is perfectly possible when pregnant, but the general advice as I understand it, is don't lift anything higher than around 10-15lbs max.

I've known people say online they lifted and were permitted to by a medic and I even saw a pregnant female weightlifting once myself and admitted they'd exercised in one way or t'other, when they'd had their previous baby, right up until about 2-3 days before birthing.

In her own way a quite inspiring individual. Certainly better for pregnancy health, than things like Gin and Cigars

Baby no likee me thinks.

I would probably not do anything now because you're 7 months. You'd have been better around the time of confirmation. Doing something now may result in little time to work the lifestyle changes into your schedule, before you birth and then you'd be looking at at least 4, if not 6-8 weeks, before working out again, by which time you'd be pretty much starting from scratch, with no leftover improvement from before.

I certainly wish you well and I can tell by your attitude and past endeavours to physically better yourself, you're quite a warm and caring individual, because I don't think you can care for yourself like you did and not care for a baby, so I'm sure you'll be a great Mum to the little one and I really hope things work out for you.

If there is anything we can do for you, stop by anytime and don't be araid to ask. We believe most if not all questions are not stupid, so feel free to ask us for support, advice or whatever you need, because that is what we are here for.

The main things to consider are, you tried to improve your physical state and you recognise the need to rekindle your assocation with exercise, so I think you can be proud of your actions and admissions, so don't be too hard on yourself, what you think you could have done is now in the past, so keep looking to the future, and the future of your new arrival and yours and their health.

There is still plenty you can do for the both of you, so you haven't made any stupid or serious life changing actions, by discontinuing the exercise during pregnancy and I think your response to the situation was human and understandable, so stay positive, keep smiling and GOOD LUCK.

You have the power to make a big difference to two lives, I'm pretty sure you'll use it wisely and your child will be a very lucky little fluffball.

:) :) :).

first and foremost, you are in the 3rd trimester stop working out at all! I am a paramedic and nursing student as well as a personal trainer, that being said after you are done be ready to go at it... hard... you're going to have extra skin to work off with baby weight and right after is the best time. Shoot me questions if you want more info, but basically amp the cardio, keep a moderate lifting program, and intense core program, and of course keep diet on track.

Pregnancy can drain your energy, but regular exercise will help you get through your day. Even you are pregnant, you can still safely start an exercise program during pregnancy. Learn more about the best exercise programs for pregnancy but be sure to consult your own OBGYN!
