i'm 6 ft tall 178 lbs
i gained about 20 lbs since i graduated from Highschool 4 years ago, mostly due to sitting around.
i recently began working out, approximately 2-3 weeks now. i began at 175 lbs and in the first week i lost 3 lbs, but just a few days ago weight climbed to 178 lbs. i highly doubt it's muscle.
i workout about 5-7 times a week.
usually about 15-30+ min of cardio a day and weightlifting every monday wednesday and friday.
i usually workout to the point that arms/legs (depending on the workout day) feels too heavy to lift.
i usually eat about 10-15 ounzes of tuna a day. i also eat a bunch of other stuff too, usually rice, whole wheat bread, apples. usually washed down with skim or 2% milk.
why am i gaining weight?

Re: why am i gaining weight?
Well, any weight gain can only be three things: fat, water, or muscle. It's quite possible to have water weight fluctuations of 3-5 lb so I wouldn't worry too much about it. As long as your diet and training are in order you'll see results.

Weight can also fluctuate daily. Firstly after a meal, as opposed to having an empty stomach, then things like toilet trips or storage and removal of little bits of fat and water, so it's a case of just stick to what you're doing, then evaluate again in another 3-4 weeks from now.
Re: why am i gaining weight?
thnx guys... never realized water and waste accounted for so much weight... then again i should have known, seeing brother slim down to make weight every other week.
Re: why am i gaining weight?
If you like weighing once a week, do it first thing in the morning after a toilet trip, then you don't have any undigested food, or retained waste in your system, skewing the result.

(There are NO significant benefits from using weight loss pills. Such purported benefits manufacturers espouse are listed below.)
* It helps weight loss in a very short duration (NO, it doesn't help, to any real extent if at all.)
* There is no additional need of undertaking any physical hardships along with these dietary pills such as dieting or devoting some special time for exercises. (There is every need. Exercise and diet are okay, not pills.)
* It helps to lose weight naturally without showing any signs of using these pills for losing weight. (No it doesn't, because it's not natural to lose weight with pills or tablets or synthetic liquids. Herbal pills are less synthetic than chemical ones, but still synthetic, so no not natural weight loss. However it is natural to eat well and move, because humans have done that for centuries.)
* This method does not involve any pain as in of opting for other methods of losing weight.
(This method may involve pain if you react to an ingredient and it does something like trigger a heart attack.)
* It helps to continue your routine and enjoy your life along with undertaking your weight loss. (As underlined before, it does little to nothing to help, however when you stop using the pills, you may get some weight regain, which is not helpful. In which case the pills are falsifying your weight loss results, because if some weight comes back after discontinuation, then the individual wasn't doing what was required to lose the weight without pills. The pills have then covered this fact up, only for it to become all too apparent after discontinuation.)
* There is no need to plan out your schedule or take in necessary preparation before opting for these pills. (That's because taking pills is a lazy method, which requires no planning, so it doesn't allow the person to improve their planning skills, or be creative either.)
* It is also very helpful in losing weight without using any equipment which is extra expense in case you are opting for them to lose weight. Hence, these pills are comparatively cheaper.
(Cheaper yes, helpful no. Spend less, achieve less. Buy the equipment, even just some resistance bands, which would be cheaper than pills as well, learn how to use what you bought properly and reap some benefits.)
You can also opt for purchasing these pills online using a secured way of payment. You can also consult a dietician or expert to check out whether the pills are the correct option to get the desired results for your body.
(Any self respecting medic or dietician should point blank tell you to forget the pills. Buying things online however is the "faceless corporation", which means if you don't get customer satisfaction with any type of online purchase, don't expect them to be any help, as some such organisations don't like whiney, dissatisfied customers, who complain about shoddy goods and services and might do everything they can to make your moaning seem pointless until you stop.
Beware buying online, your customer service experience, might not always be a good one.)

Re: why am i gaining weight?
I really like how you talk about losing weight and doing it naturally, I'm on board with that 100%! I'm pretty new to the weight loss thing and I'm really in need to lose about 20lbs minimum and I wanna do it the natural way and I'm considering an exercise band. I found this site http://www.squidoo.com/best-fitness-wor ... cise-bands I'm leaning towards the nike fuelband because I've read the most good reviews about it but I've heard it makes exercise and losing weight more fun to have a constant counter of how many calories are burned and stuff. Anyways, I was hoping some of you might have some advice for me before I make a purchase. Thanks.
Re: why am i gaining weight?
Post a fresh topic about what you're looking to do and myself and / or others will get back to you, when and if we remember or have time
Thanks

Thanks

Re: why am i gaining weight?
As others say, probably water but if you want to lose quicker you could always ramp up the cardio and cut carbs out after around 6pm. Just a thought.
