Hello

Post by Yukari »

name is Yukari I come from Japan. I have moved here into the United States 2 years ago. I love living here..And..I hope I don't go back to Japan!! But what I am here for is advice for those that live with Crohn's Disease..I had been recently diagnosed as of December 2010. So far I think it is much under good control. But any tips..as I do not see much..or other members who suffer from auto-immune disease like I do. I am rather thin and tall so gaining some extra little weight wont hurt..I am typical japanese-lady build..except taller. Hope to see some of you soon!

your new friend

Chrons is as you will no doubt be aware an IBD, (Inflammatory Bowel Disorder). In the case of Ulcerative Colitis, some people might need a colorectomy or ilectomy where part of the colon or illeum is removed.

You shouldn't ever need that hopefully, as I don'th think Chrons causes a need for any such procedures to be done, but as long as you stay away from Gluten products you should be fine. Wheat is also suggested, but has never been linked in a concrete way to flare-ups, like it has in Ulcerative Colitis and Coeliacs.

Hopefully you will be able to manage it and maybe in time the slight possibility of it going away could happen, although for many it won't, but it shouldn't impinge on your quality of life too much.

GOOD LUCK to you and keep believing in yourself. You are not a victim of this unless you let yourself be and you very much still have the power to be amazing, in your own unique and beautiful way and whatever we can do to support you and look out for you, please just ask unapologetically and unconditionally and we will try what we think is our best, to be whatever you'd like us to be.

You seem like a warm and lovely person and I hope the future works out for you.

:) :).
