Lost 291 pounds and maintaining

Post by Sjm1027 »

Hi,
I am new here but have reached weight goal of 184 pounds loosing a total of 291 pounds.
At the age of 55 it can still be done. I would like to educate others but not sure the best way to go about doing it.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

I'm not 100% sure why 184lbs as a target weight as it seems a bit random, but I will say BIG CONGRATS man on managing to do something like that. You are a seriously inspiring individual :).

Why not break the process you had into 4 pertinent stages.

1. Epiphany. What made you take action.

2. Method. How you started to take action.

3. Problems. what you encountered along the way.

4. Education. What key things you learned from your experiences. I.e. knowledge of the process, increased understanding of yourself and your limits and capabilities.

Thanks for the great outline. The 184 may see very random to you and others but I will give you a quick reason why.

Highest weight was 475, back in 1988
First diet got me down to 384, 1995
Loss of: 91 pounds and I just maintained.
Then I Re-start at 384 pounds in April 2008
And lost 200 pounds in February 2011
200 Pounds Lost from Restart
Current Weight: 184 pounds
291 Pounds Total Pounds Lost

The 200 pounds was choice. doctor told me to stop at 195 but I had to reach the even number of 200 pound loss for some strange reason, it just felt right. So the random 184 really equates to a 200 pound loss on re-start.

Thanks again,
SJM

Yes, all the time but I'm not a writer... words would bore you to death :)
I would actually love to help others that need to lose weight, help them understand that it's really not the food it's the person and the way they view life.

I understand about the writing part! lol Most people do need alot of help when it comes to losing weight....in the motivation and inspiration department rather than in the food department. I believe that much of losing weight is the transformation of a person's thought processes.
