Good breakfast diet options.

Whole-grain Cereal and Eggs.

Chopped Chicken, a pot of Yoghurt and an apple

Grilled trimmed Bacon, Grilled Mushrooms, Scrambled eggs and some Toast.

Grilled low Fat Cheese on Toast.

Cereal with powdered Flax and Nuts.

Though you could chop and change some of those options, I.E. Cereal, Bacon and Yoghurt.

You could also include other things like Ham, Turkey, Banana, Citrus fruits, Pear, Tomatos, Soybeans, Berries, Peanuts, Baked Beans, Skimmed Milk, Coconut Milk, Amond and Soy Milk, Parsley, to name but some, so you've got plenty of choices for Breakfast.

Opt for high protein, good fats, even whole grain toast is ok in the morning. You can get your quality protein and fats from eggs. In opinion...it's best to eat the whole egg as the protein is more bioavailable in whole form...plus your getting more nutrients and vitamins from the whole egg. This will keep you fuller longer and will help you burn more calories. If you don't have time to prepare a healthy breakfast, find a good meal replacement or protein shake. A good whey protein, flax seed oil, and fruit should do the trick in a tight bind.

Whether its egg whites and oatmeal, or whole grain cereal and berries, or low fat cottage cheese and fruit, make sure to have a caloric profile of 30% protein, 30% health fats and 40% carbohydrates. At least 5 grams of fiber would also be advisable. And don't be afraid to drink plenty of water, you'll be more regular.

Why those ratios of 30/30/40, protein, Fat, Carbohydrate? Why not 33/33/33 or 30/40/30, or 40/30/30 as examples?

I'm not disagreeing, just trying to understand your logic.
