Hello everyone I'm new to the forums and I just wanted to get some advise on what how I'm doing so far..
I've only been eating Kashi Go Leans honey almond flax. Lunch and dinner I've been eating Fish and a small salad. For a snack I'll have string cheese, raw almonds or a peice of fruit, and im only drinking water.. I am going to add more variety to diet, but I'm learning how to change mind set. I wanted to know if it's ok if i eat lays baked chips as a snack, or
fat free sherbet
Is what I'm eating ok?

Lays Potato Chips known as Walkers Crisps in the UK and owned by Pepsi, are better than they used to be, as they now contain Sunseed and a bit of seasoning, so there is much less fat.
I would say they are now an acceptable between meal snack and they only have about 180 calories as well.

Your meal structure: Your food choices are really nutritious. You can go crazy on the salad though, so don't focus on it being small if you don't want to. Green vegetables are a really low-carb, low-GI source of nutrients and energy. More protein and vegetables would be good for dinner, and keep those nuts around for the fat.
Healthy snacks: I would recommend against processed food for snacks, like chips, unless it's a once-a-week treat. Try to stick to whole, natural foods, like cut up 5 strawberries in a bowl sprinkled with cocoa powder, raw vegetables with hummus dip, etc. With the sorbet or sherbet, look for no-sugar added and keep the portion small, or look for something sugar-free. Sugar is what makes you gain weight, so if you keep your sugar intake low, you will keep extra pounds at bay.
On cheese: You can go for full-fat cheese too if you like, it's nutritionally balanced between carbs, fat, and protein as a protein source.

Low fat might be better anyway, as it's less saturates. It would depend though on the gram per gram cost compared to regular, because if the process used for low Fat is more labour intensive, the unit price would go up, in order to maintain the same profit margins obtainable on regular, that's almost a schewin, rather than sell it to buyers for the same price as regular.
If Low Fat is not much higher priced than regular cheese, based on two basic cheeses, not posh fancy ones, then low fat would edge it I think.

That depends on your goals though - the nutritional profile of most cheese is an equal percentage of protein and fat, which is really balanced. Eating saturated fat in that quantity is not bad unless you have a health problem. I only eat full fat cheese. Cutting out the fat makes it less satisfying and satiating.Boss Man wrote:Low fat might be better anyway, as it's less saturates.
