This is just a basic question I have for the community here at Shapefit.com because I'm curious.
If you live in the US, then food prices have already risen over 10% in the last few months, and this can really put a hamper on some people's routines, especially those that are bulking up, or going for purely natural/ organic food intake.
If you've been an organic food lifter for a while, how has the current economic climate, and inflation of food prices influenced you? I know a lot of people who have had to really cut down their food bills, and it has done a number on friends who try to sustain tons of lean mass.
Additionally, has the current fiscal realities caused you to sacrifice some of your principles when it comes to nutrition lately?
I look forward to some healthy discussion.
Sincerely,
James Villepigue.

When you said organic lifters, I thought you were referring to people who don't use "gear", in which case, that's 100% of people who have posted here in the last 12 months, almost certainly.
I don't consume organic and a study published about 18-24 months ago, revealed that three vegetables; Potato and I think Onion and Carrot, had no discernable benefits, when organic versus non-organic.

Boss Man, I find that hard to believe.
So there's no difference between a genetically modified potato and an organically grown one? There's no difference between an onion seeping in pesticides and toxins, and one that isn't? I would love to see this study if you still have it on hand somewhere. Here in the states I've seen a decent push towards far healthier produce, as local and organic as possible in the gyms. What good is it to eat a great diet for slimming down if in the process you ingest tons of unnatural chemicals and additives?

Check medicinenet and see if it still exists, it should be there somewhere, or possibly on Web MD, I think the study was originally supllied by a site called healthdaily.
There would be some kind of difference between organic and non-organic foodstudffs, but the study seemed to show that based on cost, the organic stuff didn't stack up, in comparison to it's supposed superior health capabilities.
